Being one of the flagship hotel in town, Cititel  Penang is indeed one of the hotel to stay you can  consider for your trip as it is indeed a city hotel which leads you to everywhere in the city. Located just 25 minutes from the Penang International Hotel and located within Upper Penang Road, get fun here in Penang with Cititel Penang .

With 451 comfortable rooms of various categories, offering panoramic views of the north and south channels including the iconic Penang Bridge and the city of George Town. Cititel Penang’s guestrooms and suites are well-appointed with modern facilities that are practical for both leisure and business travellers.

Complete with the contemporary design, warm colours and thoughtful amenities to provide guests with a memorable stay.  Offering guests a choice of enjoying their stay in a sea-facing or heritage-view room, all rooms come equipped with a 32-inch LCD-colour television, air-conditioning and ceiling fan, international direct dial, attached bathroom with the rain shower, digital in-room locker (electronic safe) in Deluxe and Suite rooms, wireless broadband connectivity, coffee and tea-making facilities, six local television channels, two in-house movie channels, five selected satellite television channels and four music channels, amongst others.

The rooms are clean and service was indeed a perfect one. Even though the hotel is 20 years old but everything is well maintained and good.  Love about is there is a fan in the room where it makes the room even cooler this round.

Other in-house services and facilities within the Hotel include wireless broadband connectivity throughout the Hotel, laundry services, a wellness centre, gymnasium and an indoor pool with jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, in-house convenience store, 24-hour internet kiosk, covered car park, florist, tailor, doctor-on-call and travel and transport arrangement.

Guests are able to enjoy Cititel Penang’s extensive dining and entertainment facilities include the renowned 24-hour Main Street Café, Zhonghua Gourmet Restaurant, Kirishima Japanese Restaurant (all located on the Lobby Level), Citi Lounge (on Mezzanine Level) and Platinum City KTV Lounge on Level 1. Even while eating out, Guests are spoilt for choice as many reputable eateries, local hawker stalls, open-air coffee shops, stylish cafes and pubs which are within a 5-minute walking distance from the hotel, all along Upper Penang Road – the city’s entertainment and dining hotspot!
Guests will appreciate the Hotel’s convenient accessibility to major commercial and government offices, cultural and historical sites, quaint shops, shopping complexes, bazaars and a variety of popular local food fare.

And being that, it is just by walking distance to taste and venture the Georgetown’s charm by foot or by a ride of trishaw which is just less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Get a free bus ride  – The ‘Hop On Free Central Area Transit’ (CAT) ply the route between the Weld Quay Jetty and Komtar at 15-minute intervals from 6am to midnight daily.
