Marina Bay Sands heralds the Year of the Rooster

January 17, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Marina Bay Sands is ushering in the prosperous Year of the Rooster with a line-up of culinary specials, retail indulgence, and choc-a-bloc festive entertainment across the integrated resort, starting 16 January 2017.
This year, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands has transformed the Grand Colonnade South (between Chanel and Gucci) into a boulevard reminiscent of blooming gardens in Spring. The special installation features a canopy of cherry blossoms and warmly lit lanterns cascading over a walkway, where visitors can view a display of oriental inspired apparel from leading retailers at The Shoppes, as well as their 2017 zodiac readings. The glass façade of the mall is also decorated with splendid cherry blossom prints to welcome visitors the moment they set foot on property.
LATE-NIGHT SHOPPING AND ATTRACTIVE OFFERS AT THE SHOPPES
This Lunar New Year, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands is business as usual from the eve of Chinese New Year through to 30 January, with a host of attractive shopping offers and daily complimentary parking from now until 12 February.
FESTIVE DINING AT MARINA BAY SANDS
In addition to a scrumptious line-up of Chinese New Year delights at celebrity chef restaurants – including Adrift by David Myers, db Bistro & Oyster Bar by Daniel Boulud, Osteria Mozza by Mario Batali, Sky on 57 by Justin Quek, and Bread Street Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay – shoppers now have even more reasons to dine at Marina Bay Sands with the recent addition of well-loved food & beverage brands IPPUDO and Canton Paradise.
IPPUDO10 will soon open its doors to unveil a 90-seater restaurant featuring the brand’s top three Singapore-exclusive ramen dishes under one roof – Shoyu Ramen, Niku Soba, and Tsukemen. To commemorate its new outlet, the restaurant will offer new side dishes such as the Samurai Ribs and innovative Almond Jelly Noodle dessert along with IPPUDO’s signature sides including the Gyoza and Goma Kyuri. For the first time in Asia and outside of New York, IPPUDO will introduce Kuro-Obi, its quick-service ramen bar and takeaway concept in Singapore. Kuro-Obi is the only concept by IPPUDO around the world that offers the Tori-paitan, which is a delicate and silky chicken soup base.
ENTERTAINMENT AT MARINA BAY SANDS
The integrated resort’s annual Lion Dance performance to usher in the Year of the Rooster will start at Marina Bay Sands’ Tower 1 Hotel Lobby at an auspicious time of 10.38am on 30 January. The performance will continue to various parts of the integrated resort, including ArtScience Museum, The Shoppes, the MasterCard Theatres and Sands Expo and Convention Centre.
Dance and musical enthusiasts can also enjoy Shanghai Tango on 19 January 2017, a one-night only production at the MasterCard Theatres featuring an intricate blend of East and West dance choreography by award-winning dance choreographer Jin Xing. Sylvia, a classic Broadway comedy by American playwright A.R Gurney, will also be staged at the Theatres on 20 and 21 January. Wildlife enthusiasts will also be thrilled to catch BBC Earth host Steve Backshall at his educational live show from 3 to 5 February. Based on the hit BBC Earth series, Deadly 60 Pole to Pole, Backshall will be sharing his encounters with some of the deadliest creatures from all corners of the globe.
