Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi introduces original “Sekki”cocktails available at MOTIF RESTAURANT & BAR. Sekki (節気/节气/節氣) , the Solar term, is a traditional way of expressing seasons in Japan and is defined by the ecliptic longitude of the Sun.* While Japanese enjoy celebrating many seasonal events based on the Western (Gregorian) calendar, the lunisolar calendar, which defines 24 solar terms (shorter seasons), helps farmers and others keep in tune with nature and observe the changes of the year for work and pleasure.

Inspired by this unique Japanese tradition, MOTIF RESTAURANT & BAR offers original “Sekki” cocktails monthly, which are hand-crafted by MOTIF BAR‘s talented mixlogists. In February 2016, guests can enjoy the brandy-based cocktail “Risshun” and vodka cocktail “Usui”. Romantic “Risshun” is garnished with chocolate and beautiful edible flower petals and is perfect for a Valentine’s Day celebration. Each is priced at JPY 2,100 exclusive of 8 percent consumption tax and 15 percent service charge.
