Song River Cafe in Penang is indeed one of the nice place for family meal. The restaurant ala kopitiam style comes with a vast variety of food to go for. Some of the signature ones include the BBQ chicken which is always one of my favorite as well as the stir fried dish.
We had the deep fried mantis prawn which is being deep fried tll perfection with the crunchy bites.
The Claypot tofu comes simply good where it is cooked with the thick gravy and Japanese tofu inside. Nicely done.
If you love to grab some egg dishes, this is indeed one of our favorite too which is stir fried egg with sharkfin, and vegetable.
Not to be missed is the Jiu Hu Eng Zhai from the stalls which comes with the generous portion of the cuttle fish and jelly fish with peanuts on top and served with the kangkung. Nice.
I am always here for the bbq chicken where it is being bbq till perfection with the juicy meat and the aromatic flavourful meat. Double thumbs up.
