RAJA ALANG RAMADHAN BAZAAR @ SAMA SAMA HOTEL

June 15, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

Set in a traditional 60’s background, with oil lamps, ‘kain pelikat’, wooden stalls and street light bulbs, the SamaSama Hotel is the perfect place to experience the ‘Raja Alang’ Ramadan Bazaar.

Truly, a time to reminisce, reconnect, reconcile and relish.

Throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Executive Chef Sivaganesan and his protégé have devised a labyrinth of lavish Iftar or “Breaking of Fast” buffet menu to appeal to the most discerning of tastes. The Ramadan buffet extravaganza showcase over 150 different dishes featuring authentic Malay, Chinese and Indian delicacies and street food, various live action-cooking stalls and mouth-watering desserts.

Diners can break fast with a variety of local pickles and kick start their appetite with refreshing local salad such as kerabu manga, kerabu nangka, acar rampai, Penang fruit rojak and gado-gado.
A special highlight this year sees the introduction of the thematic street food action stalls featuring local specialties including Terengganu’s Nasi Kerabu, Malacca’s Nyonya Otak Otak, Pongteh, Penang’s Fried KueyTeow and many more. Another highlight of the buffet is the “Bakar Corner”, from Ikan Bakar, Kerang Bakar, Pais Ikan, Cencaru Belah Belakang, Portugese style Stingray, Ikan Terubok, Squid, to Chicken, Lamb and Beef Satay, the Chefs guarantee that only the freshest ingredients make it to the guests’ plates.

Take a stroll around the extended Tepannyaki Restaurant and diners will discover more action stalls from Noodles, Sushi, Tempura to Chennai Express featuring Roti Canai, Tosai, steamed Idli, Vadai and Baaji.

At the Chinese Corner, diners can indulge in a selection of Chinese food including Hainanese Chicken Rice, Lok Lok (Satay Celup), Yong Tau Foo, Dim Sum, Steamed Pau & Loh Mai Khai (chicken glutinous rice). These action stall dishes will vary each day throughout the whole month. Apart from the action stalls, whole roasted Lamb or Beef on Barbeque Pit will be served daily at the upper deck of the Poolside terrace.

To round up the feast, guest can head towards the sweet corner and be spoilt for choices. The dessert corner will feature traditional Apam Balik, assorted Malay cakes as well as a buffet laden of local fruits.

To add merriment to the occasion, diners will be entertained by a 5-piece Batak Band with local Malay favorites and old P.Ramlee, Saloma Classic.

Besides food, diners can find a variety of local merchandise at the Bazaar including Tudung, Sarong, Kebaya, Raya cookies, art and craft. The merchandise stalls are provided by the Hotel to the associates at no cost to sell local products as part of the Hotel’s initiative in addressing the needs and welfare of the associates.

Priced at RM120 nett per Adult and RM60 nett per Child, the Buka Puasa Buffet promotion will be available from 6.45pm to 10.30pm at the Degrees Restaurant.
