EMBARK ON A CULINARY JOURNEY TO NEW ZEALAND @ JW MARIOTT HONG KONG

February 12, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

Look forward to great food and wines from New Zealand, from now until 28 February. Indulge in an enticing selection of sustainable meat and seafood dishes during dinner at Flint Grill & Bar. Complement an exquisite experience with an array of exceptional wines, craft beers and more at any of the hotel’s dining venues. The highest spender during the New Zealand promotion will enjoy a round trip air ticket for two persons to Auckland. (Terms and conditions apply).

Blessed with the natural environment and unique climate, New Zealand is most favourable to premium and healthy ingredients that are highly-acclaimed by renowned chefs across the globe. Head Chef, Sven Wunram has sourced the best produce such as the free-range grass-fed venison as well as sustainable monkfish and red snapper to create a menu of truly inspiring New Zealand specialties for your enjoyment. Savour the rich and tender texture of venison, prepared Osso Bucco style with home-crafted spätzle and braised red cabbage (HK$400 per dish); and cocoa nib crusted Cervena venison chops with black pepper-strawberry gastric (HK$480 per dish). Other culinary highlights include monkfish steak with sea asparagus, candied tomatoes and champagne sauce (HK$350 per dish) as well as slow-cooked beef shortrib on the bone (HK$720 per dish); and roasted whole red snapper (HK$680 per dish), where portions are perfect for sharing.

In addition, Sommelier Kevin Yung has also selected wines from a few of the most prestigious wineries in New Zealand, which include Felton Road Bannockburn Chardonnay, Palliser Estate Sauvignon Blanc, Pegasus Bay Merlot Cabernet and Palliser Estate Pinot Noir; to accompany the delicious culinary creations. The wines are available by the glass (from HK$110) and bottle (from HK$400) at all dining venues.

A variety of craft beers (HK$98 per bottle) like Monteith’s Summer Ale, Black Beer and Harrington’s Rogue Hop Pilsner are available. Creative cocktails (HK$128 per glass) include New Zealand Martini, a classic recipe of Spiritual Vodka, Lillet Blanc, fresh dill and capers; as well as Maori Julep, comprising Mahurangi Gin, fresh kiwi, ginger juice and Rosemary cordial, topped with soda.
