CHINESE NEW YEAR DINNER @ ZUAN YUAN, ONE WORLD HOTEL

February 8, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

Zuan Yuan which is famed for its chinese cuisine brings you more excitment with their special Chinese New Year Menu. This year, Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant comes out with Chef Heng’s three celebratory set menus to welcome the Wood Goat year.

Toss your prosperity with the Yee Sang with the Crispy Soft Shell Crab. The yee sang comes withloads of condiments includes the usual prickle, slice cucumber, pomelo, shreded carrots and more. The staff will begins the good wishes while they are pouring the pepper, sesame, peanuts, crackers as well as the sauce which brings us with all the good wishes. This year, Xuan Yuan brings us with a different twist from the usual salmon, we are served with the deep fried soft shell crabs instead. Nice and crunchy !

Served next is the Steamed Dragon Garoupa with Bean Curds and Black Fungus in King Soy Sauce. The garoupa fish comes well with the flaky texture of meat with the blend of sweetness of the fish itself. I love how it is being served and every mouthful is amazingly good.

As for the Wok Fried Jumbo Tiger Prawns with Superior Soy Sauce; it comes well with the fresh and huge prawn. The prawns are coated with the flavorful superior sauce as well as the pulpy prawn with it. Nice one!

Next we are served with the platter of the usual CNY specialties. Filled with loads of goodies in one plate inclusive of braised abalone, dried oysters, Sea Moss, Mushrooms and sided with broccoli. The dish was compliments well with each other with the oyster sauce. Most of all, the dish brings you more prosperity with the “Fatt Choy” that is topped on top.

Not to forget is the full platter of Roasted “Pi Pa” Duck Traditional Style. With the crispy duck skin and also moist meat. Nice.

Steamed Rice with Preserved Meat and Diced Duck is well wrapped in the Lotus Leaf and they comes moist and yet flavourful. The rice is so good with the loads of ingridients in i which include chicken waxed meat, duck meat, and more.
zuanyuan
End our meal with some sweet delights of course. Double Boiled Sea Coconut, Snow Lotus Pear, Red Dates and Snow Lotus Seeds is sweet and nice. Ends your meal with teh sweet temptations of a bowl of sweet desserts.

The Fried Traditional Nian Gao with Yam and Sweet Potatoes is one of my favourite dessert. It is indeed special and every mouthful is sinfully good.
