Are you a big fans of yong tau foo? If you are; try the new style of having yong tau fu which is the BBQ Yong Tau Foo for an interesting touch of BBQ to the usual yong tau foo. With the 55 years in yong tau fu making business, Mr Ray had transformed its business from the traditional yong tau fu to the creative idea which is the yong tau foo grilled over charcoal. The open air street café was not difficult to locate for those who knows where the famous Japanese BBQ in Taman Desa is as Old Tricycle Yong Tau Foo is located right next to it.

With 55 years to their name with their original stall Choon Kee in Pudu had made into their new adventure where they had spread up their wings with the new concept of barbecue. The menu here offers a mix of items where they have some traditional yong tau fu and some novel variety which includes bacon. What unique here is the DIY grilling your Yong Tau Fu over fire pit.

As for the barbecued items there are so much of choices to go for. Large Platter with 35 pieces of Yong Tau Foo, meant for 5 (RM65). Each platter set comes with the charcoal BBQ pit for you to BBQ your yong tau foo. Some of the delicacies to add to your barbecued includes the Stuffed Chili; Stuffed Ladies Finger; Stuffed Brinjal; Stuffed Bitter Gourd; Tofu skin; Tofu ; Stuffed Pork bacon with Green Pepper and Pork Bacon Stuffed Pig Skin to name a few.

– Curry Chee Cheong Fan-

Aside from the yong tau fu, they have also Chee Cheong fan to go with it. Some of it includes the Curry Pig Skin with Dry Shrimps Chee Cheong Fun (RM3.90) and Sweet Sauce with Dry Shrimps Chee Cheong Fun (RM3.90). One of the highly recommended and rather addictive will be this Curry Pig Skin with Dried Shrimps Cheong Fun RM3.90 where each mouthful comes slurpy and good. The smooth slurpy texture of the Cheong fan made a good match with the not so thick curry sauce with it. It is just awesome as it is.

Bringing the old tradition back to live; they have the drinks served in the steel painted mugs which is back in the 60s. The drinks choices includes the Kumquat (Honey Lime), Fuzhuk Barley, Pumpkin Drinks and Cincau with Basil Seeds to quench our thirst that night. The drinks are refreshing and perfect for the BBQ fare. Drinks are priced at RM4.50 each.
