LE MERIDIEN KOTA KINABALU LAUNCHES PINKTOBER BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH WITH KINABALU PINK RIBBON

Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu played host to Kinabalu Pink Ribbon’s official launching of their Pinktober activities this morning in support of breast cancer awareness. Kinabalu Pink Ribbon President Hajah Natrah

Mohd Arif in her welcome speech, shared the association’s calendar of events throughout the month with invited guests and the media.Invited to speak at the official launching ceremony, Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu’sGeneral Manager Fiona Hagan shared, “As a global business, Starwood Hotels and Resorts believes strongly in social responsibility. The company has policies and programs in place on conservation, community outreach, disaster relief funds and more. And we encourage our associates to extend themselves and contribute towards those initiatives.”

“At Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu, we believe in opening opportunities for our associates to give back to the community, particularly on issues that are close to their hearts. And that is why we decided on bringing the spotlight onto Pinktober and the breast cancer awareness movement.”

“What initially began as an awareness talk and blood donation drive quickly extended into an opportunity to work with Kinabalu Pink Ribbon, help raise funds for the cause and give back to the community.”

“To achieve this, Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu is donating 10% from our Weekend Immersion Hi-Tea to Kinabalu Pink Ribbon throughout October. The Immersion Hi-Tea is available on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.”

“The hotel will also showcase the “Passionately Pink” strawberry cream-filled éclair and “Pinktober Pleasures” mocktail throughout October. The delectable éclair and mocktail were created exclusively in support of Pinktober.”

“In addition to food & beverage Pinktober choices, the hotel has created an accommodation package that includes a radiometrics Beast Screening. The three days/two nights package is sold at RM1100nett each with a number of value-added benefits, and a portion of that package will be donated to the Kinabalu Pink Ribbon in support of their long-term goal to build a Resource Centre for patients and survivors.”

Our business affiliate, the Swiss Wellness Center, is offering a special radiometrics Breast Screening package rate for all hotel guests. Priced at RM199nett from its normal rate of RM450nett, the offer is available throughout October.”

“These are just some of the activities / programs we are rolling out in support of Pinktober and the Kinabalu Pink Ribbon. Our hotel associates will be wearing Pink Ribbon brooches with their uniforms throughout October and will be sharing our Pinktober story with guests. We are working with Kinabalu Pink Ribbon to provide female associates over 40 years old with free mammograms at designated Specialist Centres.”

A Breast Cancer Awareness Talk and Blood Donation will also be held on Saturday, 11 October 2014 from 10am – 3pm. The hotel looks forward to working with KPR and actively engaging its associates in the various Pinktober activities not just for this month but also throughout other months of the year.
