THE SEARCH FOR THE BEST HOME COOK WITH BOSCH

September 23, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

We all know home cooks with the talent of being masterchefs in their own right as they triumph in whipping up creative and original culinary dishes at home. Bosch and Her World highlighted the talent and appreciation for exceptional home cooks with Her World’s Best Home Cook Contest Finale, where home cooks shared their favourite Asian recipes and the stories behind them. The winning grand prize was brought home by Ong Le Pin for her mouthwatering take on her Lemon Drizzle Cake which won the judges over for its beautiful presentation and quality in taste.

Separated into six dish categories that consisted of Deep-Fried, Desserts, Asian Salads, Stir Fries, Hot & Spicy, and Soups, the judges were knocked away by a smorgasbord of flavors as home cooks competed to bring back great prizes. The Grand Prize winner took home a Bosch Asian Range Intellilink Hood and Hob set worth RM4,500 and a RM1,000 cash voucher from QSR Trading, whereas category winner will also be featured in the upcoming issue of Her World magazine, where readers will be able to try out the tasty recipes at home.

A panel of judges reviewed the shortlisted reader entries by studying them through creativity, recipe story, usage of local ingredients and plating/presentation. The final cook-off crowned one ultimate winner and six category winners from readers’ recipe entries.

The winning recipes from the finale are as listed below:
1. Deep Fried
2. Desserts
3. Asian Salads
4. Stir Fries
5. Hot & Spicy
6. Soups

“Especially given the pride which Malaysians hold over food, we believe that there are many talented home cooks in Malaysia waiting to have their potential unearthed. Her World’s Best Home Cooks Contest marks as an opportunity for home cooks in the nation to showcase their talent. We are honored to be a partnering with Her World for the contest and recognize it as a great platform to showcase Bosch’s wide range of high-quality kitchen appliances whilst discovering great home cooks in the nation,” said Gary Ong, Chief Executive Officer of BSH Home Appliances Sdn.
