AWARD-WINNING TAO CHINESE CUISINE INTRODUCES SIZZLING SEDUCTION OF A CLAYPOT AT TAO, INTERCONTINENTAL KUALA LUMPUR

July 11, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

Weekends and Public Holidays will be sizzling hot at Tao Chinese Cuisine as the award-winning restaurant launches new claypot promotion available from July 1 to August 31.

Claypot has been one of the oldest forms of cooking techniques with the unique ability to retain robust flavours and moisture of the food when cooked. Executive Chinese Chef Wong Lian You with experience of over 20 years in the culinary industry introduces this ancient method to continuously deliver authentic Chinese cuisine and experience to discerning gourmands.

The variety of claypot reaches as many as fifteen choices to choose from including premium choices of sautéed tiger prawns with chopped chillies, fish soya and milk; braised fish maw with golden crab meat sauce; stewed sea treasure with garlic, fish soya and lime juice; as well as contemporary recipes featuring sautéed assorted seafood with asam sauce; braised preserved vegetables with garlic and smoked duck breast; and stir-fried baby squid with dried chillies, garlic and shallots.

Seducing the senses, enjoy the sizzle, smoke and scent waft through the air as the fresh ingredients slowly simmer to a perfection of warm and satisfying dish. Executive Chinese Chef Wong describes the cooking process as slow, even and delicate. “Claypot method allows the food to braise all ingredients together while preserving the nutrition.” He adds that, “It also brings out the finer flavours of the quality ingredients, resulting in a tender, wholesome and flavoursome dish.”

Claypot dishes are stewed in special homemade sauce complementing the different seafood, meat and vegetable assortments perfectly. For the ultimate dining indulgence, mix and match a selection of claypot favourites accompanied by fragrant white rice.

Claypot promotion at Tao Chinese Cuisine starts from RM28++ per portion onwards and is available from July 1 to August 31 for lunch and dinner on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays. For reservations, call Tao at 03-2161 1111 or email the team at [email protected]. Tao Chinese Cuisine is open daily from noon to 2.30 pm for lunch and 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm for dinner.
