SILKA MAYTOWER HOTEL & SERVICED RESIDENCES BAGS: GOLD ACHIEVEMENT AWARD AT KUALA LUMPUR MAYOR’S TOURISM AWARDS 2014

It was a triumphant moment for Silka Maytower Hotel & Serviced Residences on being accorded the Gold Achievement Award (3-Star Hotel), beating 12 other nominees vying under this category at the recently concluded 2014 Kuala Lumpur Mayor’s Tourism Awards (KLMTA 2014) ceremony.

Silka Maytower Hotel & Serviced Residences is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s main commercial and entertainment districts.  The hotel features stunning view of the city and the iconic Kuala Lumpur Tower through its 179 well-appointed guestrooms and suites.  Managed by Dorsett Hospitality International (HKEx Stock Code 2266), the hotel is one of the six Silka hotels in the group’s portfolio.  The other Silka hotels in Malaysia are Silka Johor Bahru and Silka Cheras Kuala Lumpur which just opened recently, and in Hong Kong; Silka West Kowloon, Silka Seaview and Silka Far East.   The Silka Hotels brand is a value-led brand for the group that focuses on providing a Comfortable staying experience which is Hassle-Free within a Convenient location.

KLMTA 2014 is organised by Kuala Lumpur Municipal Council once every three years to acknowledge, recognise and reward outstanding establishments and individuals that best represent the epitome of excellence in their respective industry which meets world-class standards.

At this second edition of the KLMTA programme, a total of 32 awards were presented in 13 categories:  Accommodation, Restaurant, Nightspot, Tourist Attraction, International Tour Operators, Shopping Mall, Print Media, Airlines, Front Liner, Merit Award, the Mayor’s Commendable Award, Medical Tourism and Events.
