EVO RESTAURANT & LOUNGE, LORONG UNIVERSITI C PETALING JAYA

March 18, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

Joining the understat food scene in PJ section 16; EVO Restaurant & Lounge , a fusion restaurant which is tucked away in the corner of the shoplots ; knowing it as Castel for its past owners. Evo Restaurant had taken over the restaurant back in November 2013 and they had revamp and rebrand the menu as well as the brand itself. The new menu looks promising; offering wide selections of entrees, mains and desserts which will never bored you.

evorestaurant
We began the entrees with their Tofu Puff (RM18.00) . The stuffed tofu which is being served with the minced prawns, mixed vegetables battered and deep fried. Leaving us with the crispy edges of toufu and the scrumptious fillings of ingridients; the toufu made to our favorites. The juiciness in the tofu and the addictive Thai Chilly dipping makes a perfect match which is just irrestible.
evorestaurant
Simple and not too appealing look ; The Evo Fried Anchovies (RM19.00) goes well as snacks and some beers too. The crunchy crispy Anchovies is well cleaned and it is being stir fried till tip top crunchiness with the mix of onions and green chillies which had made the blend of light spiciness. Yummz!

Prawn lover would not give this a miss where you can share around with friends on its grilled seafood selection. I am spoilt with the Cajun Grilled Prawns (RM30.00) where the taste is simply a great one where it is well grilled with the Cajun sauce which is marinated together with it. Served with jalapeño mayonnaise. The flavourful Cajun flavours with the smoky blend at the outside while in the inside it is filled with the juiciness of the prawns which is l love the most.
evorestaurant
Another spicy appetizers will be the Sausage and Spices (RM 16.00) where the chicken sausage is being sliced and added with the onions, chili and sambal. Pretty addictive dish and the Western delights brings up the touch of Asian Spices and promoting the kick of spiciness.

Some greenies come right after the spicy dishes. The Caesar Salad with Grilles Chicken (RM18.00) served with the Romaine lettuce, croutons, onions, shredded Parmesan cheese, chicken bacon tossed in Caesar dressing, topped over with grilled chicken. Pretty standard delights, there is not much to complain but it is a healthy blend of dish to have.
evorestaurant
Fish lover can opt to try the Cajun Fish (RM 28.00). The pan dory fish is complete with the Cajun Seasoning and it give us with the buttery soft flaky texture which melts in the mouth. Added with the fragrant white pepper sauce on top, it give us a better flavor to the fish itself with the light spiciness. The Cajun fish is served together with the vegetables and potato of the day.
evorestaurant
The Rib Eye Steak (RM58.00) prepared in medium rare where the grain fed rib eyes served with the tender and juicy meat with it. The rib eye is being drizzle with the brown sauce and served together with vegetable and potato. The steak which is filled with juiciness in it makes to the guys favorites.
evorestaurant
One of my favorites The Lemon Grass Chicken (RM 28.00).Since , the dish does not appear much fancy presentation, we are not much paying attention on it but once a bite – Gosh! I am falling in love with it. The delicious tender chicken meat is is well marinated with the lemon grasss was indeed flavourful and aromatic leaving the crisp texture and the juicy meat. It is being served together with the vegetables, potato of the day and black pepper sauce.
evorestaurant
Being a big fans of aglio –olio, the spaghetti aglio – olio (RM36) is definite something to try off. The hearty portion of the aglio olio which comes in generous portion includes the spaghetti, tiger prawns, scallop, squids, clams and fish is being sautéed together with the olive oil, garlic as well as chili flakes. It gives us an overwhelmed temptations and deliciously made.
evorestaurant
Classic Cheese Burger (RM20.00) comes huge with the seasoned grilled chicken patty, lettuce, sliced tomato, onion rings, and pickles sandwiched within two fluffy bun. The burger comes with the side of coleslaw and fries. The delicious burger is definite to give you satisfying burps after having them all.
evorestaurant
The Braised Lamb Shank (RM 43.00) marinated with the exotic spices and it is being braised for hours leaving the fell off bone texture and what’s more the texture is soft. Not gamey, it brings a very good textures which is filled with the sauce itself and the meat is juicy too. It is being served with the gravy, vegetables and potato of the day as well.
evorestaurant
Goes to some Chinese next will be the Sang Har Mee (RM 37.00) where the well deep fried wantan noodles is being drenched with the thick eggy gravy. Added with the fresh bouncy water prawn with it, the noodles are perfect and absorbing the egg gravy. It is really a nice one to try off at Evo Restaurant as well.
evorestaurant
From the Asian Wok, we are being served with the Evo Kampung Fried Rice (RM 18.00). The stir fried rice is being topped with the generous of ingredients including squid, prawn, chicken and egg.Topped with the crispy mini anchovies; the delicious rice is simply tempting and appetizing.

All good food does ends with a sweet touch. The chocolate Brownies with Ice Cream (RM15) are well assured that will tempted with the moist, creamy chocolate cake ith the nutty bites within it. It is such a lovely dessert to end with.
