HOLIDAY INN MALACCA: GIVING ME A HOME STAY FEEL

February 11, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

Being to the city which is fill of heritage, I am always tempt to stay around the Jonker Street but this round, we made a choice where we had our stay at the Holiday Inn Malacca which is pretty convenient and off from the massive jam in the town itself.

The Holiday Inn Melaka is not new to the city landscape but there is a reason why it has been a popular choice for both business visitors as well as tourist for the past years.

For starters, the attention to detail by staff members and level of service that we received were simply flawless. We were greeted with a smile and the staff efficiency to serve us during the busy check0in period with a welcoming smile. The hotel staff swiftly checked us in and led us to the room within minutes.

Our room was spacious and pleasant. Equipped with the basic amenities that a typical four star hotel offers, we also had a spectacular view across the Melaka island located.

During our stay, we took time out to discover the facilities and services available. Our first pick was the pool. Located at the third floor, the pool is gorgeous bringing us the infinity feeling alike we are swimming by the sea. Next to the pool, they have the gym for those who prefer some work out during the stay.

Other recreational options close by are the spa- a must to visit for those who are looking to pamper themselves from head to toe.

Aside from the top-notch rooms and facilities, one of the main highlights of the hotel has to be its food establishments. To ensure we didn’t miss out on any yummy fare, we made time to sample their Italian restaurant which is the Sirocco Italian Restaurant, a relaxed dining outlet serving the best wood fired pizza in town. We will post the review up on our dining in their restaurant. We enjoyed the food as well as the services provided as well.

The hotel’s close proximity to the Mahkota Parade which is just opposite had made exploring more convenient to us – all we had to do is just step out of the hotel! Cafes and restaurants are located within a short walking distance away.Holiday Inn Melaka is within walking distance from the local attractions such as Jonker Street, A’famosa, Stadhuys, Clock Tower and the Christ Church. Not only that, the hotel provide the free shuttle rides to some key areas like the Jonker Street and Mahkota Parade.

The overall experience were a great one where it give us a great service, attentive staff as well as the fantastic food options with a comfortable space in the heritage city of Malacca. Holiday Inn Malacca appears to have everything that a travelers need and much more. Two thumbs up.
