A FAMILY GATEWAY & EARLY BIRTHDAY TREATS AT VICTORY ANNEXE CORNER SUITE, EASTERN & ORIENTAL HOTEL

July 8, 2013 By StrawberrY Gal - Hotel, Hotel Review, Penang 1 Comment

A hotel which is filled with history and we are very glad and honored being invited by the E&O Hotel for the room review for their Victory Annexe Corner Suite. The newly established suites which captured my heart and I am falling in love with it at the first sight. The newly opened wing (barely 2 month old), that houses a total of 122 sea-view suites, the Victory Annexe is where we are staying for a 3 days 2 nights stay as a birthday treat for little Grace.

– The Sarkies Brothers-

The Eastern & Oriental Hotel (popularly known as the E. & O.) is a colonial-style hotel in Penang that was established in 1885 by the Sarkies Brothers who were behind Raffles Hotel in Singapore. The sea-fronting hotel is known for its luxurious accommodation and restaurants. For well over a century, this remarkable hotel – known simply as `The E&O’ to generations of travellers – has stood as a testament to the grand elegance of the British colonial era.

– The Lobby View-

– The Lobby View-

In many ways, it has also come to represent Penang itself; its story inextricably woven into the island’s history, its traditions an indelible part of many a traveller’s treasured memory, its name synonymous with the magical island once known as The Pearl Of the Orient.

– The view from the Heritage Wing-

We are driving all the way from KL in the morning and reaching the hotel at around 2 plus. It is very convienient to reach the hotel where the drive is just all the way from the Lim Chong Ewe highway and you will reach the hotel about 20 minutes drive. Conveniently located at the UNESCO area, tourist can conveniently visits the tourist attraction is just minutes. The hotel without a doubt the most atmospheric hotel in Penang, with manicured lawns and tropical gardens flanking a white colonial-style mansion, a lacelike facade, and Moorish minarets.

We reached the hotel and had our car park at the safe and convenient multi level parking. Proceed to our check-in at the hotel, the lobby is impressively beautiful with the humble professional staff. I proceed to the check-in counter which takes me just a couple of minutes and the boy bell helps us with our heavy luggage to get it to our rooms.

The reception also advice us on what is includes in the package itself. This is where I am being explained that we can have our breakfast in Sarkies Corner or their private lounge at Level 16. Aside, cocktails are also available in Level 16 at the afternoon. The staff are very professional is explaining the details to us and guided us to the lift as well.

Walking the way from the room and also the pool , they have beautiful photography pictures featuring all about Penang which is just beautiful and impressive.

Each rooms will have their cards and access to the levels will only be granted when we tag our cards to the lift. It brings to more security in the hotel itself. Headed to our room at Level 9, the room is simply beautiful and my lil girl is falling in love with the room itself and running up and down in the room itself. As for us, we enjoy every corners of the room which is impressively beautiful and well done with the touch of elegance at every corners of the furnitures in the room. Everything in the room is just impressive and we love them so much and felt homely too when we entered the room itself.

– Here what we have-

– Fruit Platter-

The goodies on the woven tray where it is not Free and there is a card with states the price of each item

– Drinks available in the little fridge-

The corner suites which is here was just heavenly and spacious with the little details on it. A fruit platter attracted my lil one too where fresh fruits is being served on the table. Complimentary Coffee and Tea with the can drinks are also a bonus during the hotel stay too. The gorgeous mini-bar is really lovely with the coffee maker and here you go with Lavazza, Twining’s Tea, Milo & Can soda. The goodies on the woven tray weren’t free as noted on a card by the bar clearly.

With so much inclusive package provided, I love the complimentary wi-fi broadband where keep us attached to my instragram, watsapps and also facebook to share our stay here. And what I love is it’s FREE!

The living room is spacious with the large TV, beautiful woven chairs and lovely sofas where I can just dozed off when watching the tv. The living room is just extraordinary but if the biggest attraction of all will be the washroom.

The bedroom is simply awesome with the fluffy pillow and also perfect where it is just too comfortable, so I slept well throughout my stay. It is just so good which I have some hesitation to wake up the next following day to capture the view of the sunrise.

– The balcony-

– The evening view from the balcony-

The seafront 270-degree private balcony was oo lovely to view the stretch of Straits of Malacca as well as the beautiful view of the island itslef. The view is just good where I can’t get off of the balcony and enjoy snapping the moments.

– Relaxing near the pool-

-You can dine near the pool too-

– The view of the pool from my balcony-

We also visited the pool where the infinity pool gives a great view where you can have the impressive view of the Straits of Malacca itself.

– The picture at the evening walk with Grace-

– The lovely view of the hotel-

– Silky blue view : A simply romantic feeling-
In the evening, we walk along the hotel where we capture the lovely blue sky which is impressively beautiful.

Early morning at 7 am, I woke up to capture the sunrise view from the balcony and it is absolutely beautiful. The lovely sunrise alike egg yolk is making up my day and I am back to my bed again since the bed was just lovely.

We headed down to Sarkies Corner for our breakfast and there you can find a variety of choices for the breakfast feast from the buffet spread and the action counter. Simply superb and lovely meals. What we enjoyed for the day includes the char koay teow, roti canai, nasi lemak and more.

The waitress is also so kind to prepare a set of plastic plate for Grace so she can enjoy her meals together with us.

– Happy Grace possing-

– Her enjoyment around the hotel-

– Her enjoyment around the hotel-

After the meals, we have our own walk around the hotel with Grace and enjoying our family moments together as well. The time with family and the bonding build within us is worth and enjoyable for a small short holiday in E&O Hotel. My entire stay was so enjoyable, I felt a little reluctant to check out. We will blog more about our exploration in the other types of room in the hotel and our next post and the romantic tea time meals at 1885 too.

Sweet blog! I found it while searching on Yahoo News. Do you have any suggestions on how to get listed in Yahoo News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem to get there! Cheers
