CURRY LEAF RESTAURANT, DAMANSARA UTAMA

May 28, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

The Curry Leaf house is now opening in Damansara Utama and now they can savour the delicious curry leaf rice here. It is said that the  head chef, who has been whipping up dishes at the Seremban restaurant for the last 15 years, is now leading the kitchen crew in Petaling Jaya.

This restaurant is quite easy to locate. To those that are familiar with Damansara Utama, this is just a few doors away from the Satay Kajang outlet and it is a Halal restaurant. Being that, it is a new place to try of the curry meals there. Good news, as diners in Selangor do not have to travel far to savour their well know nasi kandar.

One of the highlights here is the Curry Leaf Fish Head Curry. The curry fish head here is using snapper fish and the curry fish is being loaded with the generous amount of brinjals as well as long fingers in it. The curry is flavourful and it is simply delicious and nice. It is well done with the thick curry as well as the fresh snapper which is being served together with it.
Price: RM 25 onwards ( Price according to weight)

Besides the curry fish, banana leaf Briyani with 4 vegetables is another highlights of the restaurant too. Served over banana leaf,it is also comes with four good vegetables which includes cucumber, cabbage, bean sprout as well as a spinach. Served with 4 types of curry and dal, the banana leaf rice is just good to be enjoyed as well. Well, the portion is a large one and it is worth for it.
Price: RM 6.50
(Choice of plain rice RM6 or parboil rice RM6.50)

Palak paneer is one of the item we tried inThe Curry Leaf Restaurant .It is a combination of Indian and Pakistani dishes to try off where the ingredient is the combination of spinach and paneer. Deliciously well made with thick creamy sauce and smells of spinach too.
Price: RM 6.50

If you love to have some fried items, you can try the Deep Fried Squids which is another highlights item. Well deep fried till crunchiness, the squid do brings the juiciness and tanginess as well. It is simplydelicious and I am jus t falling in love with the crunchy juicy texture.
Price: RM10.00

Curry Leaf Fried Prawn is also a nice one to add on when you are having the Curry Leaf rice here. The deep fried prawns is being well fried with the juiciness and well as the crunchiness in it.
Price: RM10.00

Beside the normal briyani rice, they do have a variety of briyani rice served with it as well. Here comes our Prawn Briyani nice which is a great combination for prawn lover. Not only prawn briyani, they do have Chicken Briyani (RM8.70), Mutton Briyani (RM9.00), Squid Briyani (RM9.00), Fish Briyani (RM9.00) to choose from too.

For beef lover, you may try off the Mutton Varuval as well which is well served with spiciness in it .
Price: RM 7.00 (Small) / RM10 (Big)

Chicken 65 is one of the famous item and the chicken is simply boneless, tangy and the meat is just melts in the mouth with just a munch. The meat is not greesy but it is so tender which I never knew that it is chicken breast meat.
Price: RM 10.00

Tandoori Chicken is also oen of the item which I love here due to the tenderness and the juiciness of the meat itself. The tandoori chicken here is simply flavorful.
Price : RM 6.00

Served together with our briyani rice, here you go with the serving of the Chicken Lakshimi Kebab and another Sooriya Kebab. Both gives us a different taste and the flavors are stronger from the normal kebab.
Price: RM6.50

Last but not least, there are the variety of Naan which is very special. There are Cheese naan, Kashmiri naan, and more. The cheese naan is being topped with the Mozzarella Cheese. As for me, I love the Kashmiri naan which is just superb. The flat bread was sprinkled with mixed dried fruits and topped with sliced fresh mango which is simply savory and mouth watering too.
Price: RM 6.50 ( Kashmiri Naan)
RM 5.00 ( Cheese Naan)
RM 6.50 ( Chicken Stuffed Naan)
RM 7.50 ( Mutton Naan)
