THE HOTTEST THING FROM KOREA IS NOW AT KFC

April 12, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

KFC Malaysia has done it again! The latest addition to its unique twist in preparing fried chicken is the KFC Spicy Korean Crunch. This brand new offering features a blend of seven chilies from around the world and a special spicy Korean sauce which will satisfy even the most discerning consumer.

“Riding on the current Korean wave in Malaysia; inspired us at KFC to create this very special fried chicken with that Korean twist. We are confident that KFC’s latest Spicy Korean Crunch will be a hit with Malaysians taking into account the ever growing popularity of all things Korean”, said Datuk Ahmad Zaki Zahid, Managing Director of QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd, operator of KFC Malaysia at the launch of the product at KFC The Curve.

What makes KFC’s Spicy Korean Crunch so special? Besides the special marinade of seven types of chilies from across the world, it is glazed with a spicy Korean sauce after frying and sprinkled with baked sesame seeds. This combination makes KFC’s Spicy Korean Crunch a mouth-watering affair for the Malaysian taste buds.

KFC Spicy Korean Crunch is a unique product that allows customers to experience the intense flavors of Korea. With the tagline ‘The Hottest Thing from Korea’, KFC’s Spicy Korean Crunch would appeal to those who are always on the lookout for something new and exciting as well as those who love all things Korean.

The Spicy Korean Crunch will further enhance KFC’s reputation for not only serving the best fried chicken but also the most innovative and creative. Even though the Original Recipe and Hot & Spicy are permanent flavours of KFC fried chicken over the years, KFC has rolled out a number of different varieties and flavours of its fried chicken. Market surveys show that although KFC customers love the Original Recipe and Hot & Spicy fried chicken, they are also looking for new and interesting flavours that will be able to provide them with a unique eating experience. Hence came “The hottest thing from Korea” ala KFC’s Spicy Korean Crunch.

In line with the promotion, KFC is offering 2 Spicy Korean Crunch Combos. The 2-piece combo and 3-piece combo is priced at RM12.30 and RM15.50 respectively. The combo is inclusive of two pieces of chicken (2-piece combo) or three pieces of chicken (3-piece combo), an all-new potato corn salad, regular wedges and one regular carbonated drink. Customers may also upgrade from the Original Recipe chicken to Spicy Korean Crunch for an additional RM0.20 per piece.

The advertising and promotion for the KFC Spicy Korean Crunch includes TV, radio and press advertising, outdoor, point-of-sale materials and online/social media for a wider reach to customers. KFC’s Spicy Korean Crunch is now available at all KFC restaurants in the country for a limited duration of two months, while stocks last, starting from 10 April 2013.

KFC is also the co-sponsor of the upcoming “2013 Asia Super Showcase in Malaysia” featuring K-Pop celebrities that will be happening on 12 May 2013 at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.
