A MEXICAN FIESTA AT INTERCONTINENTAL KUALA LUMPUR IN APRIL

InterContinental Kuala Lumpur (165 Jalan Ampang) is proud to announce that together with KLM and the Embassy of Mexico in Malaysia we are bringing Mexico’s world famous traditional cuisine to you. From 1-15 April 2013, two extraordinary Mexican Chefs will be specially flown in from Presidente InterContinental Mexico to cook up an authentic Mexican Feast. Mexico has long been recognised for its natural beauty and traditions that reflect centuries of history and cultural legacy. To add even more accolades, in 2010, the UNESCO committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage inscribed Mexican Cuisine on the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Mexican cuisine is famous for its distinctive ingredients, rich heritage and incredible diversity and our visiting Mexican Chefs Tania Gonzalez and Salvador Vasquez will be using their extensive experience to prepare an exciting menu. The menus will focus on staying true to the characteristics Mexican cuisine and our Mexican Fiesta will bring the sound, culture, and taste of Mexico to InterContinental Kuala Lumpur.

Come join us as we celebrate many days of fun, food, and Fiesta for everyone. Menu items include:

Appetizers on the menu include:

-Ensalada de Nopales – Cactus Salad

-Guacamole con Totopos – Avocado Dip  with Tortilla Chips

-Salpicon de res a La Mexicana – Strips of Meat Mexican style

-Ensalada de Calabaza con Frijoles y Cilantro – Zucchini and Bean Salad with Cilantro

Main dishes on the menu include:

-Arroz a La Mexicana – Mexican Rice

-Albondigas con  salsa de Tomate – Meatballs with a Mild Chilli Sauce

-Camarones al Pasilla y Guayaba – Shrimps in a Chilli Guava sauce

-Barbacoa de Cordero de Hidalgo – Barbequed Lamb served in Hidalgo style

-Quesadillas y Tortillas Calientes – Corn tortillas and tortillas with different fillings

Desserts on the menu include:

-Flan al Caramelo – Crème Caramel

-Churros – Deep Fried Pasty Sticks

-Arroz con Leche – Rice Pudding
