Satay Celup is one of our Malaysian favorites which is one of the item MUST eat when you visit Melaka. Now, you do not need to travel all the way down to Melaka for one and now you can make your visit at Damansara Utama for the satay. Satay Celup, one of the popularized in Melaka, is a twist on the well-loved local street food called “Lok Lok”. Much like Lok Lok, skewered raw and semi-cooked ingredients are dunked in a boiling pot of scrumptious satay sauce – an ingenious way, to give that extra kick to our favourite food!

Royal Satay Celup is family run business operated by Simone and Joseph who are both fans of Satay Celup. Simone shared with us that both she and her husband loved to travel down Melaka to dine for Satay Celup and here they goes with the idea of opening the satay celup in Klang Valley.

Here we are at the Royal Satay Celup now and there are a varieties choices of ingridients to be dipping in to the peanut sauce. I could not resist the temptating peanut sauces where the pungent sauce with lots of peanuts inside is making my tummy drolling when seeing the scrumptious bowls of peanuts in the satay sauce.

We had a variety skews of freshly ingridients for us to dip and cooked. Here you goes with the fresh skews of variety of fishballs, meatballs, pig intestines, crab sticks and even more. All the ingridients are really lovely and freshly served and the price are reasonable as well.

What is plus for Royal Satay Celup is I love the sauce which is a hygienic options. This is where they do not recyle the sauce for other customer and with this, you will have a cleaner option of the brooth and sauce.

Not to forget , we also had the cooling icy chendol after the satay celup. the chendol is cooling with the red beans, chendol and the coconut milk together is making a perfect combination to share.

UPDATED:
They have recently changed their policy of fresh pots for every table and have decided to opt for public sharing pots (similar to the original Malaccan concept).
The decision was made after much consideration of many customers’ feedback requesting a thicker gravy and more peanuts in their sauce. The general consensus was that most customers would rather have a richer sauce and would not mind a common pot just as in Malacca since there is a common understanding of “no double dipping”.
Our sauce is now thicker, richer and more flavourful. And it is most certainly heavily loaded with lots of good quality ground peanuts!
We believe in giving our customers a good quality product n a good experience. As such, we can no longer afford to throw away large quantities of sauce every table. We also do not want to alter the casual dining experience by charging every customer for sauce.
However, we would still provide the occassional customer with the option of having a fresh pot of sauce at RM 10 for Half Pot and RM 20 for Full Pot.
