CHINESE MENU AT LAI CHING YUEN, GRAND MILLENNIUM

August 26, 2012 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review Leave a Comment

Besides having Mooncakes, a 9 course dinner are being served. The menu is well made with the delighting food on our plate and I could never forget the pork knuckle which we had back during Chinese New Year. As for this round, we had our food review for the delights of 9 courses meal.

We started our meal with some starters where Deep Fried Golden Mushroom with Soft Shell Crab with Salt and Pepper. The dish is seperate in to two plates where a plate of Soft Shell Crab and another will be the Deep Fried Golden Mushroom. We had impressed with both the delights where the soft shell crabs appears to be crunchy and crispy and with the light spiciness in it. The delights is simply well made and the soft shell crabs are also fresh

As for the Deep Fried Golden Mushroom, it really does not taste like mushroom and the bites is amazingly done and the dish is simply crispy and is it mouth watering as well.

– The  Doubled Boiled chicken with Clam and White Cabbage-

Doubled Boiled Chicken with Clam and White Cabbage is where the soup is heavenly with the delectable sweetness from the chicken and cabbage which is being steamed together. The nutritious soup is doubtlessly lovely and every sips of it is sweet . The sweetness of the soup comes from the long-boiled soup where are the sweetness and the nutriens are being absorb in the soup.

Barbecue Roasted Pork with Honey is sinfully mouthwatering with the thick juicy meat. It is well bbq roasted pork is well marinated and bbq till fragrant. I just love the juicy meat with the tip top honey glaze which covered the meat which make it even more perfect and juicy. Not to forget is the char siew sauce which comes together with it makes my finger lickering good and it is simply not enough to serve us all.

Homemade Beancurd with Angled Luffa Guard and Scallop is a simple dish and yet savory. Home made taufu which is soft and succulent and topped with the Angled Luffa Guard and Scallop. I am just falling in love with the soft taufu texture and the crystal misty gravy.

Braised Bamboo Fish Head In Claypot, where the fish head are being deep fried till golden brown and crispy is being served to us. The fish head is being deep fried and it is being topped with the sauce with it. The dish is very flavorful but it would not be one of my favorites as there is too much bones in it as well it is slightly salty to me as well.

Fried Australian Asparagus with XO Sauce is where the crunchy asparagus is tossed with some chilly oil as well as XO sauce which left us with a light spiciness in it. The asparagus is crunchy and appetizing as well to be munched together.

– Braised Local Loh Mee-

Braised Local Loh Mee is just normal with the silky noodle and the thick gravy. It is well served together in a little bowl and the gravy is thick and delicious as well.

We ended our meals with the sweet delights which is the Sea Coconut with Red Date and White Fungus. The sweet delights captures my heart with the healthy desserts where there are white fungus, dates and sea coconut. The Chinese desserts is simply refreshing and not too sweet is lovely to end the sweet meal for the day
