IMPERIAL CHAKRI PALACE, KLCC

June 20, 2012 by StrawberrY Gal

Imperial Chakri Palace first opened its doors in 1999 and the restaurant had been providing the best experience of authentic fine Thai cuisine in KL with our highly skilled Thai chefs who are personally hand-picked from Thailand. The restaurant is situated on the 4 th Floor of KLCC and it is simply packed as well when we are entering the restaurant. We are well served with the smile and a welcome note “Sawadikap” by the waiter and waitress during our enterance to the restaurant. what I love the most is the food from Chakri are prepared with no added msg, low cholesterol oil, no colouring and no preservatives.

-The beautiful Table Settings-

Mieng Kam

– How the Mieng Kam is wrapped and it is served-

Mieng Kam is one of the first dish which is being served to us which is one of the Thai delights. The Thai Traditional Handroll which is served with seven (7) types of ingridients with it. It includes the peanut, baked shredded Coconut, Chili Padi, Diced Onions, Diced Lime, Diced Ginger, Sun Dried Shrimp and “Kaduk” Leaves which is served with the Shrimp Paste Sauce with it. It is one of the famous Thai snacks and is a healthy food too.
Price: RM 19.90

Next we had the Chakri Four Seasons which is served with four different types of snacks with it together. Thai Fish Cakes, Spring Rolls, Sweet & Spicy Chicken, Crispy Prawns and Muzed Fruit Salad are being served together in a plate for sharing. The dish is simply tantalizing with the freshly made items and the food is well made and designed.
Price: RM 39.90

Chakri Tom Yam Gung Mar Num is one of the chef’s recommendations where it is seved with the Chakri Sour and Spicy Lemongrass Soup with King Prawn, Seafood and Mushrooms. We are served with the clear tomyam soup which is simply tantalizing and flavors of tomyam are indeed bringing the spiciness of the tomyam. I am also love the generous amount of seafood which is in the soup and the flavors are really amazing.
Price: RM 19.50

We are also being served with the Gai How Bai Tuey which is where the chicken is being marinated with the Thai Spices and it is then being wrapped with the Pandan Leaves. The taste of the chicken is being absorbed with the fragrant pandan leaves flavors as well as the tender meat.
Price: RM 21.00 (6pcs)

Next is the Yam Soam Roam which is an appetizers and a meal not to be missed in any Thai restaurants. It is the combination of the mixed mango and papaya salad which also served together with some cashew nuts, bean sprouts, tomatoes and chili paddy in it. It is well mixed together and the taste comes with some sweet, sour and slightly spicy.
Price: RM 18.90

Vegetables to be served during a meal would be nice combination. We had the stir fried broccoli with black mushroom to be served together with the meal where the broccoli is fresh and well fried. Topped with some carrots and the springy delicious mushrooms is indeed good for the day.
Price: RM 22.50

Phad thai Gung Sod is a Thai ala char koay teow. This is where the noodles which is imported from Thailand is being stir fried till fragrance with the prawns, crushed peanuts and chili powder with it. I just love the noodles which is sweet in the start and spicy at the end taste as well as the fresh prawns with it. The prawns are fresh and the taste is simply good too.
Price: RM 18.90 (Small)/ RM 58.00 (Large)

Gaeng Keaw Wan Gai is the Thai Greeen Curry which is cooked with the choices of Chicken, Beef or Prawn. The curry is simply thick and the taste is also simply flavorful as well. It has the fragrant aroma of the curries which is good and tasty.
Price: RM 21.00

As for fish we had the Pla Neung Ma Now which is where the sea bass is being steamed with Clear Lime, Chili, and Garlic Sauce with it. The fish is fresh and I just love the combination of the lime, garlic sauce and chilly which give a taste of a slight spiciness as well as sour with it. It is indeed a good combination and there is no “fishy” smells too. It is indeed a nice fish to have there.
Price: RM 68.00

As for prawn lovers, you may try their Gung Phad Choo Chee. This is where the stir fried shrimps with the Peanut Sauce or Garlic and Pepper. The sauce is simply thick and tentalizing which is simply a umph for me.
Price: RM 20.90

For rice lover, nothing will be as good as having pineapple fried rice. The pineapple fried rice is simply flavorful with the generous amount of prawns as well as the crispy cashew nut with it. I indeed falling in love with the pineapple fried rice very much where the rice is simply fragrant.
Price: RM 18.00 (Small)/RM 55.00 (Large)

We ended our meal with a dessert. The dessert is well prepared inside the fresh coconut shell.Ai Tim Tab Tum Krob is Chakri Homemade desserts where the red ruby water chestnut, sago, jackfruit and a vanilla ice cream is being served with the icy coconut Milk in Fresh Coconut Shell. The dessert is simply appetizing and full of thick coconut milk and the crispy texture of the water chestnut.
