DONDANG SAYANG COFFEE HOUSE, THE CORUS HOTEL KL( INVITED REVIEW)

The Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur, part of the UK-based Corus hotel group, is one of the most popular 4 Star Business Hotels in Kuala Lumpur. The hotel is strategically nested in the excellent location of Kuala Lumpur City Centre( KLCC). The Petronas Twin Towers are just heartbeat away from the hotel with less than 5 minutes walking distance. World class Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and Aquaria KLCC are just 10 minutes walk away from the hotel. Famous landmarks such as China Town (less than 5km) & the shopping paradise of Bukit Bintang (less than 1.5 km) are just minutes away from The Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

They have complimentary shuttle services are available daily to Bukit Bintang (Pavillion) & Chinatown.The hotel has 388 comfortable guestrooms are well-equipped with broadband internet access & cable TV. For events and meetings in Kuala Lumpur, the hotel’s modern Ballroom and seven meeting/function rooms will host small & large groups comfortably. Leisure seekers can swim in the pool surrounded by a garden terrace, exercise in the gymnasium by the poolside or be pampered at Danai Spa or pavillion in the garden terrace.

The café serves a variety of continental food and it can occupies up to 220 diners at the go where they can have a relaxed ambience in the coffeeshop. On weekends, they serve Themed Hi-Tea Biffet where there are few themes which is running at the coffee house which includes Penang, Melaka, Ipoh and wild Wild West.

The local theme buffet we had the Penang this for this round. What’s best in Penang includes the famous char koay teow, asam laksa and more. So, if you are Penang food lovers do visit Corus hotel and you can enjoy halal Penang food here. We will go round the counter to recommend you foods there.

Rounding the buffet corner, there is a corner which featured the variety of Penang Delights. There is Lo Bak which is well made with the succulent and tender chicken meat with some deep fried items like breaded chicken, deep fried taufu and more.

They do serve Char Koay Teow there with the fresh juicy prawns as well as bean sprouts. The Char Koay Teow which is being fried is simply full of “wok hei”.

If you are Laksa lovers, do try them where they have the Penang Style Asam Laksa which is simply soury and the fish based soup is simply full with the shredded fiish as well as finely slices vegetables like onions, cucumbers, as well as the thick sweet prawn paste and use of torch ginger flower.

Besides that, they do serves pai tee which is another speciality in Penang. This is another style of popiah but it is served in the mini cup with the slices of cucumbers, mengkuang, carrot, cabage and more. They do serve Chee Cheong Fan which is in Penang Style where it is served with sweet paste and prawn paste on top of it.

There are also a pasembur which is one of the famous Indian style rojak. You may add the ingridients on your own like taufu, cucumber, mengkuang and many more.

Aside from these Penang foods, you also may enjoy variety of International and Malaysian Cuisine too. On the table, they do serve large variety of appetizers. There are some which is the fruits appetizers, and some salads. The salad is well prepared with freshness and there is a variety to choose off.

They also served congee with lots of condinments from ikan bilis, salted egg, peanuts and many more to be added to their fresh congee. It is indeed a healthy meal to choose as well. They do serve breads and mushroom soup in the other corner. Soup lovers you may have a grab of a bowl of their daily soup of the day and some breads to fill up your brunch.

For those who prefer heavy meal, there is a variety of curries to choose like – curry chicken, curry fish, crabs, pastas, fried noodles and many more. They also have satay with a choice of chicken or beef. Aside, I love the peanut sauce which comes together with it which make it even more perfect.

After all the heavy meals, lets jump to their desserts. They serves a variety of desserts from cakes, puddings and local delights as well. Here, they have the assorted cakes as well as puddings like mini cheese cake, blackforest cakes, and many more. They do serve puddings and jelly as well. On the other hand, they have the Penang famous Rojak, Chendol and Ice Kachang to be served. Aside, they is hot soups like grean bean soup, and longan tong sui too.

Ice creams? Yes they have too.. They have a variety of ice cream flavor to choose from like chocolate, vanilla, and many more.

If you have kids, there are kids corner too. They have mini buffet for kids where kids can choose their food their and Corus did a great job to in giving entertainment to the kids while parents may enjoy their meal 
