Yayoi @ Lot 10 : MUST TRY teishoku !

July 13, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

Yayoi is one of my favorites restaurants when it comes to Japanese delights. And this time, visited Yayoi which is located in Lot 10 Shopping Mall.  They also have another outlet at The Gardens, Mid Valley too! For those who are not aware, Yayoi is originated from Japan and they have over 600 outlets around the world. Not just that, their food are from halal suppliers and they do not serve pork & alcohol too.

The restaurant are beautifully decorated and bringing you with a nice touch of interior that makes your dining really comfortable. The menu comes in two format where you can opt to go thru your menu via digital or even on the book.

For those who are not aware, Yayoi stories began back in 19th century when Japan opened it’s doors to the foreign world during the Meiji Restoration. And during that time, cuisines from around the world flooded into Japanese Culture. As time progressed, Western Cuisines began to gradually merge with traditional Japanese cuisine resulting in Yayoi-Ken which opened in 1886. This marriage of traditional Japanese cuisine with Western influence resulted in what we now call Teishoku.

At YAYOI, they prepare teishoku with a healthy balance of dishes on a single tray. These set meals contain freshly-cooked rice, the staple food of the Japanese people, accompanied by miso soup and other main and side dishes.

Spicy Chicken Karaage

One can enjoy their signature chicken karaage where they comes really good. The chicken karaage are absolutely my favourite where they are deep fried upon order. They are so perfect that I don’t mind having more of it.

Chicken Namban Teishoku (RM 20.90)

One can enjoy the awesome set which is simply worth for your money. The chicken Namban Teishoku are divinely delicious where they are beautifully marinated with their secret recipe. Then; they are deep fried till perfection and topped with the awesome tartar sauce. They are served with the coleslaw and warm rice.

Chicken Miso Katsu Teishoku

Another signature of Yayoi, one can enjoy the breaded chicken cutlet which is beautifully simmered in their miso sauce. Served together with miso soup, rice, and also salad.

Yakiniku Don (RM 24.90)

For those who love to grab some beef delights, you can go for the Yakiniku Don. The  bowl of beef rice is absolutely delicious where they are beautifully grilled. The beef comes simply delicious with the chewy and melts in the mouth sensation. Delicious!

Salmon Hitsumabushi Teishoku (RM 38.90)

One can enjoy their signature salt- grilled salmon served on the rice  together with the dashi broth and deep fried tofu. The dish can be eaten in 4 ways where you can eat them as it is, add in the condiments to the 2nd portion, pour the Ochazuke Dashi onto the 3rd portion, or try the 4th portion in your own way.

Asides from that, one can enjoy a variety of snacks, sushi, sashimi and more from Yayoi as well. For those who are looking for nice delicious dining experience and some Teishoku at both their outlet at Lot 10 and  Mid Valley.
