UNCLE CHONG’S KITCHEN, 1 SHAMELIN MALL: THE HOME STYLE LOCAL CUISINE

Uncle Chong’s Kitchen is a place where you can feast your palate upon closely guarded family recipes that have been passed down for generations. The restaurant was open back in 2006 where they are famous for their family recipes. Some of its signature includes their signature Curry Laksa, Asam Laksa, Nasi Lemak and so much more.

We starts our meal with their Uncle Chong’s Curry Laksa. The curry laksa which is being served with thick curry brooth which is filled with cocnut milk laden soup with it. Thick brooth served with the shredded chicken , dried tofu pok with it. The curry laksa here is spice up with the scope of chilli paste as well as half cut lime on top. Bringing the savory spicy delights, the curry laksa brings us with the homely taste.

The Asam Laksa here brings us with the more soury taste where you can find the blended sardine fish in the soup bringing the soup more to the thick texture The asam laksa is topped with the slices of pineapple, mint leaves and slices of red chilly on top.

The tomyam seafood noodles brings us with another spicy delights. The tomyam seafood served with the “Nai Fan” is good with the umpph of spiciness in it. It is being topped with the some seafood like prawns, and squids in the noodles itself.

The Uncle Chong Nasi Lemak is one of the speciality in Uncle Chong Kitchen too. The white light which is added with the small portion of santan with it, and also curry chicken, sambal tumis, peanuts and ikan bilis is good to be shared. Own grind ingridients, the nasi lemak is slightly different.

Not only that, they do served Grill Sting Ray in Portuguse Style. The soury style of sting ray is well cooked with the spicy soury sauce with it. It is then being wrapped with the aluminium foil. The gravy is bringing the soury taste and it make a good match when it served with the hot bowl of rice.

If you are a fans of chicken feet, try their Thai Style Kerabu Chicken Feet where the appetizers brings us with the strong flavors. It is definite to boost your appetite with the soury spicy taste. Served cold, the chef had made the mixed with the deboned chicken feet together with the cut onions, coriander leaves, and red chilies. Appetizing.

The Deep Fried Chicken Roll is a nice one to try. The Deep Fried Chicken Roll is well wrapped with the juicy mix of chicken meat in it which brings us with the appetizing delights.

If you are a fish cake lover, do try their Deep Fried Vege Fish Cake is one of my favorites. The fish cake is well deep fried with the juiciness with it.
