BLUE REEF FISH & CHIPS, TANJUNG BUNGAH

June 15, 2010 by StrawberrY Gal

Blue Reef Fish & Chips is my visit during my trip back to Penang. I had been finding the location of Blue Reef but i really not to familiar with Tanjung Bungah routes. As so, my GPS now is my friend to guide me for this extravaganza Western Delights.

Swen Lin and her bf had opened this shop for quite something. The couple is real good in food. Our visit this time is making me indulge with the food here and it will be a comeback again when I am back to Penang. Not much to say, I had known that this shop had been blogged by many food bloggers and my visit here is not much a special.

This visit is giving me a chance to taste the delighting western food here. What we had ordered? Since both of us, we did not order a lot of food. I had the Fish and Chips which is their trademark of the restaurant. Blue Reef trademark fish & chips in choices of traditional Beer Butter or bread crump. Swen recommended me with the traditional Beer Butter which is a good try. The fish was fresh and they are using a very temptating fresh fish not those dory fish. I love it so much. The portion is quite big and the fish is very fresh and taste very nice. There is no fishy smell on the fish and the overall combination is great.

Enjoying together with their home –made tartar sauce or simply the salt and malt vinegar is making the overall food taste is simply amazing. The chips are also very nice and now really salty. Thumbs up!

Taste: 5/5
Price: RM 17.00

The Aglio with Prawns is his choice of the day. The spaghetti with prawns tossed in olive oil, garlic and anchovies. The prawns are fresh one and the portion is big as well. For not a pasta lover, I am also feeling in love with it. The taste is simply nice. With Swen’s recommendation, the pasta is being sprinkled with parsley and chilly flakes.

Taste:5/5
Price: RM16.00

Seafood Galore- It is a combination of Fish and Chips with scallops, prawns, calamiri rings , and a healthy bowl of salad in Passion fruit dressing. The food is very fresh especially the fish and they have a new choices of fish which is the Halibut fish. The fish are fresh and so the seafood. They are will fried with battered. Good combination of meal for two.

Taste: 5/5
Price: RM 49.00

We ordered as well 2 peach tea. Yummy…
