COMO Hotels and Resorts and Culina Present a Gastronomic Journey at the 2016 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

August 15, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

Reprising its previous years’ success, COMO Hotels and Resorts returns this year to the 2016 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX with COMO Cuisine, in partnership with Culina, Singapore’s top specialty food purveyor. Drawing upon Culina’s premium produce, the menu transports guests along a gastronomic journey through COMO’s exclusive hotels in Bali, Bhutan, the Maldives, Miami Beach, the Turks and Caicos, Thailand and the UK. Serving alongside COMO chefs, helmed by Executive Chef Dan Moran, is guest chef Malcolm Lee from COMO’s sister restaurant, Candlenut, Singapore’s first Michelin-starred Peranakan restaurant.

The COMO Cuisine menu draws from the culinary traditions of COMO’s destinations while highlighting Culina’s fine ingredients. On offer will be selection of light, healthful dishes such as seared scallops with Thai red curry and Himalayan strawberries with floral cream, which will fortify Paddock Club guests with the energy needed to last the weekend.

True to COMO’s respect for local culinary traditions, Chef Lee will fly the Singapore flag with his contemporary interpretations of Nonya dishes. His contribution to the culinary line-up includes Peranakan crab curry with ketupat and Berempah chicken with nasi kunyit, which earned him his Michelin star this year.

To complement the extensive menu COMO Hotels and Resorts will be flying out Martinez Vitkauskas, COMO Metropolitan London’s lead mixologist, to create champagne cocktails and keeping the drinks flowing. Vitkauskas’ specially-designed menu reflects COMO’s partnership with Taittinger Champagne with original creations befitting the energy and excitement of Singapore’s night race.

Chef Moran states: “COMO is delighted to return to the Singapore Grand Prix, where we can showcase the finest ingredients from Culina with a brand-new menu designed especially for Paddock Club guests. COMO Cuisine celebrates the vibrant food cultures of every destination in which we work, and we are particularly pleased to be working alongside one of Singapore’s most talented young chefs, Chef Lee from Candlenut, again.”

COMO Cuisine in partnership with Culina will be available at the Paddock Club from 16 to 18 September 2016.
