BANYAN TREE BINTAN CELEBRATES 20 YEARS

September 2, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

In 1995, Banyan Tree launched its first resort in Bintan, featuring tropical villas ingeniously raised on stilts with endless views of the South China Sea. Since then, Banyan Tree Bintan has blossomed into the quintessential island-getaway resort. To commemorate 20 years, the hotel has launched a celebratory package with special treats for dining and activities for stays from now till 18 December 2015. In addition, as November 20th marks its 20-year anniversary, an exclusive palate-pleasing weekend has been created for guests to share in this joyous occasion.

For over two decades, Banyan Tree Bintan has been wholly committed to delivering intimate, romantic and rejuvenating escapes. With 26 notable awards won to date, including Condé Nast Traveller UK Readers’ Travel Awards 2002 – The World’s Top 100, Pacific Asia Travel Association Gold Awards 2005, Travel + Leisure’s India Best Awards – Best Boutique Hotel 2013, this testifies of Banyan Tree Bintan’s dedication in offering guests an unrivalled experience every time. With the passing of 20 years, it warrants a trip down memory lane with your loved ones to relive the cherished moments made at this rustic luxurious retreat. Akin to a homecoming of sorts, Banyan Tree invites guests to return to a place filled with a sense of familiarity, evoking memories of warmth and love.
Book the Sense of Celebration Package at our Best Available Rate from now till 18 December 2015 with a minimum stay of two consecutive nights and enjoy the following inclusions:
 Daily buffet breakfast for two at Treetops
 Return private car transfer between Bintan Ferry terminal and the resort
 20th Anniversary gift from Banyan Tree Gallery
 20% off Spa (except Facial & Beauty Treatments)
 20% off F&B (except for In-Villa Dining and Destination Dining)
 20% off Laguna Golf
 20% off Water Sports activities
 Complimentary late check-out till 16:00hrs (subject to availability)

Soul Food, as its name suggests, will see guests being served authentic Indonesian delicacies with ingredients sourced locally and prepared the traditional way. Banyan Tree believes that soil-to-table cuisine honours local heritage and culture, and delivers more than just nourishment to the body – it is food that comforts the soul. The soul food weekend* at Banyan Tree Bintan will begin with a trip to collect ‘Gong Gong’ by the beach, a visit to an eco-farm and local market. With these ingredients, guests will be treated to a sunset cooking demonstration as chef Steven Hill lends his expertise in Indonesian cuisine by carefully curating a selection of evergreen favourites and new delights. The weekend will culminate in a communal dinner on the beach where guests sit around a large bonfire with a BBQ pit fired by coconut shells. To complement your meal, an array of salads & condiments served in clay pots and woven banana leaves will also be available.

*Book your stay on 20 and/or 21 November 2015 and enjoy the Soul Food weekend extravaganza to commemorate our 20 years. Identical activities will be held on 20 and 21 November 2015.
