A Heavenly Medley of Handcrafted Mid-Autumn Delights only at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur!

August 13, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

Following on from the tremendous feedback of our mooncakes last year, Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur returns with an enthralling
ensemble of luxuriously flavoured bite-size pieces of gastronomic heaven this Mid Autumn Festival. Amid the enchanting moonlight, take delight in the bold, indulgent flavours of our traditionally baked mooncakes and alluring exquisite snow skin varieties with innovative fillings – a perfect pairing for the season that will add just the right amount of cheer to any joyful reunion.

Encased in a lavish, deep red chest inspired by the mid-century vintage travelling trunks of yesteryear, these luxurious delicacies present the perfect opportunity to gift your loved ones and captivate hearts with joyous Mid-Autumn reunions. The premium gift set comes equipped with  mirror, doubling up as a beautiful jewellery case.
Fall head over heels with our traditional classics featuring the all-time baked hits: Pure White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, and Golden Pandan Paste with Single Yolk. Making an appearance this year are exciting new flavours, including: Assorted Fruits and Nuts – a tasteful delight of almonds, walnuts, white sesame, redcurrants, melon seeds and zesty tangerine peel creating sensational texture and flavour; Hojicha Green Tea Lotus Paste – leaving one with intense flavours of the aromatic roasted green tea; Red Bean Lotus Paste – crafted to suit contemporary palates, the delicate sweetness of fresh red bean paste is subtle and simple; and Pandan Lotus Mung Bean – best paired with a calming cup of chamomile tea! The traditional ensemble is available at RM 178 per box.
Alternatively, those with an adventurous palate may indulge in our perennial snow skin favourites.

Enrobed in soft pastel yellow snow skin, the refreshing, citrusy notes of the dainty Yuzu Calamansi with Confit Orange Peel captivates an irresistible balance of sweet and sour, befitting for lovers of subtle tastes. It’s also sprinkled with edible gold dust, held together with love and promise. For those with a taste for the exotic, the unique Rainforest Tualang Honey and Figs creation is a must try! Collected from the Malaysian rainforest by the Tualang Orang Asli, the ‘Tualang’ honey adds its scrumptious flavour to its health, and wound-healing benefits, to make these delicate masterpieces perfect to satisfy all sweet-tooth cravings. Furthermore, the sweetness of this local honey melds perfectly with the distinctive fragrance of figs that will make you feel over the moon. This snow skin mooncake is also Instagram-worthy as it comes in a violet white marble exterior providing it a soft and delicate appearance.

Making comebacks are our crowd-favourite coffee-infused snow skin mooncakes.
The fragrance and taste of illy coffee is intense and utterly delightful, promising a sensorial experience of taste – a recognition towards Le Méridien’s global brand partnership with Italian brand, illycaffe.

With an innovative twist this year, guests may now choose between two new renditions: the Signature illy Coffee Snow Skin
Mooncakes with Macadamia Nuts where illy Coffee is blended in both snow skin and paste providing one a richer, deeper coffee taste, or the melt-in-your-mouth Signature illy Coffee Snow Skin Mooncakes with Soft Peanut Mochi Heart where illy Coffee is blended into paste, and then wrapped with peanut mochi before being enclosed in snow skin. Chewy with a mix of coffee and peanut, a mochi heart is seemingly visible upon slicing this sinful and indulgent treat into half.

Last but not least, the luxurious Chivas Whisky with Golden Raisins is one mooncake that we believe will delight whisky aficionados or gifting to parents-inlaw. A unique rendition to the typical rum and raisins we always hear about, this exquisite snow skin mooncake encases whisky-infused golden raisins (the golden raisins are soaked in Chivas whisky for a total of 48 hours). Upon first bite, one will
be able to taste the intense flavours of Chivas. A minimum 3 days advance notice is required for all orders of Chivas Whisky with Golden Raisins Snow Skin Mooncakes.
“As one of the most auspicious festivals in Chinese culture, the Mid-Autumn Festival is often filled with endearing moments of meaningful family reunions, a tradition we are extremely proud to be a part of, and to associate it with the global Le Méridien Family programme”, said Michael Delargy, General Manager, Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur.

Both Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur’s traditional baked and snow skin mooncakes are priced at RM 30 per piece (except for the Red Bean Lotus Paste which is priced at RM 28 per piece, and Chivas Whisky with Golden Raisins which is priced at RM 45 per piece).

These dainty creations are sold at Latitude 03, lobby level of Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur, and available from 24 August to 1 October 2020. Pre-orders are available from 10 August 2020. Guests may also choose between two limited edition premium mooncake gift sets. The lavish, deep red chest inspired by the mid-century vintage trunk fits six (6) pieces of mooncakes and is priced at RM 178 each.

Guests may choose between the ‘Traditional Baked’’ set which includes all six of our traditional baked mooncakes, or ‘Inspired Snow Skin Flavours’ set which allows one the option to choose any six (6) of our snow skin mooncakes, except Chivas Whisky with Golden Raisins. Bulk purchases are also welcomed. Enjoy 20% for bulk orders of more than 50 boxes.

All bulk orders should be made at least three (3) days in advance. Club Marriott and Marriott Bonvoy members as well as cardholders of Maybank, CIMB Bank, HSBC, Hong Leong Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank and United Overseas Bank (UOB) get to enjoy an exclusive 10% savings on all mooncake purchases.
