Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong Retains Its Eight Michelin Stars The Highest Recognition in The World

December 24, 2019 by StrawberrY Gal

Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong continues to be the multi starred culinary destination with the unveiling of the Michelin Guide 2019 Hong Kong – Macau.  In the 12th edition of the guide for the region, Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong brought home eight stars, the most Michelin stars to be found in one hotel, anywhere in the world.

Lung King Heen, the world’s first Chinese restaurant to win three Michelin stars, has retained its position taking home three stars for the twelve consecutive year. Overseeing this pursuit of excellence is Chinese Executive Chef Chan Yan Tak, Restaurant Manager Jacky Cheung and Sommelier Bernard Chan. While maintaining the refined tastes of Cantonese cuisine, Chef Tak has expanded his culinary vision in the past year, working with local organic farmers and sustainable meat producers to continue to push Chinese cooking into new frontiers. At the same time, the service team has continued elevate the wine and spirits offering, exploring new regions and exclusive cuvees to offer guests unique pairing opportunities.
Joining Lung King Heen is the temple of French fine dining, Caprice, earning the coveted three-star accolade for the second year under the leadership of Chef Guillaume Galliot, Restaurant Director Stephane Rabot, Pastry Chef Vivien Sonzogni and Sommelier Victor Petiot. Coming in less than three years since Chef Galliot took the reins of the culinary operation, the award is a recognition of the new levels that Caprice has achieved in execution and creativity. Chef Galliot’s personal journey through his career beginning in France, taking him through Asia, is reflected on the plate with a personal expression of French gastronomy. His authentic vision is complemented by the exquisite dining room and renowned warmth of the service team where every wine selection is a story and every movement a ballet.
The final jewel in the crown is Sushi Saito. The first overseas location of the famed restaurant of the same name in Tokyo from legendary sushi master Takashi Saito, this intimate restaurant has also been recognized with two Michelin stars, a remarkable achievement. Sushi Saito Hong Kong is led by Chef Ikuya Kobayashi who continues Chef Saito’s dedication to the craft of Edomae-style sushi, where the precision of fish ageing, rice cooking, and balance of vinegar, soy sauce and wasabi create sublime moments on the palate.
General Manager and Regional Vice President Bill Taylor expressed pride in his team. “The Michelin Guide award is one of the greatest recognitions a restaurant can receive.  It is a testament to the dedication of our chefs and service teams in providing the most exceptional experiences for our guests.  Eight Michelin stars allow our guests from all over the world know that when they visit Hong Kong, the world’s finest cuisines can be found executed at the highest level, all under one roof. When guests dine with us, they can expect more than just a meal- they will go on a journey of taste, they will find a place to connect with someone they love, and we hope that when they finish, they leave transformed.”
