‘Muhibbah Gathering with YB Michelle Ng, Adun Subang Jaya

July 2, 2019 by StrawberrY Gal

About 70 children from four different orphanages in Klang Valley have turned up in beautiful Malaysian traditional costumes in celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri with Guest of Honour, Yang Behormat Michelle Ng, Selangor State Assemblywoman at Summit Hotel USJ recently.

Jointly organised by the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) – Selangor Chapter and KIWANIS Club of Bukit Kiara (KCBK), the event had the children and invited guests excitedly celebrating Malaysian unity in different colourful costumes representing different ethnics in Malaysia.

Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng, Chairman of MAH Selangor Chapter said that the organisation has collaborated with KCBK in efforts to make the least fortunate members of the society special and appreciated.

“As an organisation that cares, we’ve been very active in reaching out to the society. For more than a decade, MAH Selangor Chapter have raised funds and contributed it to several charitable organisations. Not only that, we’ve brought the least fortunate to our member hotels to treat them every festivity,” said Datin Jasmine.

With 130 hotel members and as part of the MAH National level, MAH Selangor Chapter will thrive further in rendering their help to the society.

Meanwhile, KCBK’s President, Loke Kah Peng said that the society will continue working with MAH Selangor chapter in reaching out to more people as well as to make a difference in the society.

“KCBK is part of KIWANIS International. Our goal is to serve the children and to give them a fair opportunity to be groomed as future leaders for Malaysia,” said KahPeng.

In the past, KCBK has aided the paediatric ward of Institut Jantung Negara to help children diagnosed with various heart diseases, supported the Orang Asli Community to help provide clean water as consumption, attended to the needs of various orphanages and senior citizens homes, in addition to being part of KIWANIS International and UNICEF ‘Project ELIMINATE’ where it funds the immunization for women against Maternal Neonatal Tetanus disease.

At the event, the children and guests celebrated the occasion by feasting to scrumptious Malaysian cuisines, being entertained by live clown and magic show as well as being given ‘duit raya’ and goodie bags sponsored by The Top Penang. The 70 children were from Pusat Jagaan Beribuan Kasih, Pusat Jagaan Rahoma, Pure Life and Victory Children’ Home.
