Bei Hai @ Selayang : Delicious Curry Fish and Chua Lan Approves It too!

October 16, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

If you are staying around Selayang or Kepong, do visit this delicious seafood restaurant here in Selayang. After our visit back 2 years ago to Bei Hai, we had become their loyal customers and had tried a few rounds of their delicious seafood delights. Operating more than 18 years, the restaurant had been visited by the famous Hong Kong Food Critic- Chua Lan.
Starts your meal with the Mixed Vege Salad. Appetized your tastebuds with this appetizing sweet and sourish taste of the vegetables. Nicely prepared and complete with flavours in it.
Being a fans of curry; the curry fish here scores a high points from us. Enjoy the creamy curry broth with generous portion of fish meat with it. The fish meat comes simply fresh and moist and the flavours of the broth is irrestible. The bowl of the curry comes with the ladyfingers, toufu bok and also the cabbage in it. Simply delicious and I don’t mind another bowl of rice.
Next is the Fried Pork Ribs with Mongolian Sauce. Comes with the fall of the meat texture with the creamy base. The pork comes addictively good and I don’t mind having additional fats too. The sauce comes well and it’s perfectly good to pair with the rice as well.
Grilled Char Siew is another dish to be enjoyed. We are impressed how the char siew is being done and it is different than the normal char siew. They are fried with the “Nam Yue” and some homemade spices together. The dish comes with light saltiness but addictive.
One of the signature and must have is also the River Prawn Boiled Rice (Seasonal Price). The river prawn comes simply fresh with the huge sizes too. Served together with a pot of pipping hot soup and the rice with it. Cook your prawns and enjoy the sweetness of the soup first. Then, cook your rice in the pipping hot soup. The sweetness taste of the soup combined with the well done rice comes simply awesome and filled with flavours too.
