CELEBRATE DEEPAVALI AT LEMON GARDEN CAFE, SHANGRI-LA HOTEL, KUALA LUMPUR

Deepavali will be celebrated on 10 November, and Lemon Garden Cafe at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur is all prepared with a festive buffet for the occasion.

Spiced aromas and delicious flavours embrace the Indian dishes on this Deepavali buffet at the Lemon Garden Cafe. These are in addition to the usual spread for high tea, from 12pm to 3pm, and for dinner, from 6.30pm. It’s a buffet that caters to everyone, with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.

Begin the Indian feast with Mulligatawny soup, served with naan and poori, then nibble on Pakoras and Paneer potato cheese balls with chutney. Move on to Kobi pachadi or cabbage and peanut salad, and Potato and cauliflower with turmeric.

Tandoori treats include Seekh kebab, Chicken Reshmi, Kadak Tikka or crispy lamb chop, Shrimp Tikka and Kothimiri Machli or red snapper marinated with garlic, mint and coriander.

Goan fish curry, Mutton Shai Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala and Shrimps cooked in coconut masala are among the main courses to go with rice and Indian breads. However, the Biryani rice baked with vegetables and Pushpanna or rice with saffron, nuts, dried fruits and spices are not to be missed.

Vegetarians can enjoy main courses like Malai Kofta or vegetable dumplings in creamy almond sauce with raisins, Matar Panir or tomato, peas and homemade curd, Gobi Aloo Bhaji or cauliflower and potato curry and Chana Masala which is chickpeas with tomatoes, onion and ginger.

Indian desserts include Rosewater marinated fruit salad, Gulab Jamun, Jackfruit Payasam, Kulfi and Rava Kesari, among others.

The Deepavali high tea at Lemon Garden Cafe is RM120nett per person, while dinner is RM140nett per person.
