SUBLIMINAL CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR DELIGHTS AT PLOY

December 23, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

Celebrate the yuletide season and say hello to 2014 with loved ones at the inimitable Ploy, Damansara Heights as the award-winning restaurant presents two exclusive set menus underscoring its creative play on epicurean Thai and Japanese-influenced Modern Asian delights this holiday season!

At RM118.00+ per person, Ploy’s Christmas Eve and Day set menu offers a glittering start to a lip-smacking culinary journey with the Golden Needle Salad and Popcorn Shrimp with Spicy Mayonnaise. Whet your appetite with a bouquet of freshly tossed mixed vegetables and creamy avocado salad paired with crunchy golden prawn fritters sprinkled with sesame seeds in a bed of lettuce. Diners are then invited to savour the Christmas-inspired starter special, Snow Flake Sushi Roll which promises bite-size bursts of piquant flavourful crabstick, eel, cucumber, nori flakes and tangy ebiko.

Choose amongst a range of hearty mains as Ploy presents the Thai Coconut and Pandan Chicken with Corn Beef Potato Cake, featuring aromatic cutlets of grilled chicken wrapped in pandan leaves topped with lemongrass, chili and delicious melted corned beef potato cake; Crispy Duck Breast with Green Curry, a lovely combination of duck breast pan-fried to perfection, drizzled with mild Thai green curry and garnished with fresh chilli, tomato and lettuce; and Australian Tenderloin Steak with Special Gorgonzola Cream Sauce, a juicy medallion of beefy goodness topped with stalks of asparagus, crispy beef bacon and drizzled with specially melted blue cheese sauce.

Indulge your sweet tooth and end your fine dining experience on an unforgettable note with Ploy’s signature Red Rubies. Refreshing to the last spoonful, the delightful mound of sweet ice shavings topped with smooth gem-like water chestnut will sate even the fussiest of dessert connoisseurs!

Ploy invites you to complement your meal and immerse yourself further into the holiday spirit with limited edition Christmas cocktails and mocktails! Kick off your heels and party with the orange, grenadine, Absolut vanilla and Butterscotch liqueur-infused cocktail, Santa’s Punch ; sip the intoxicating cranberry, raspberry, lemongrass and lychee liquer-infused Starlight as you catch up friends and loved ones; revitalize your spirit with a quirky glass of espresso, Sprite and brown sugar blend in After Party; or chill with the refreshingly healthy and frothy orange, pineapple, tomato and ginger combo that is Christmas Dream.

Come 2014, Ploy’s New Year’s Day menu comprises a list of equally tantalizing dishes. At RM128.00+ per person, start the year on an auspicious note with an appetizing Potato salad with Bacon, Duck Egg and Spicy Crabmeat Puff. The sight of creamy potato salad on top of which sits half a duck’s egg with sprinklings of smoked bacon, accompanied by two miniature spicy crabstick and ebiko cream puffs will no doubt tempt your palate!

Continue your gastronomic adventure with the unique and quirky Five Elements Black Pasta featuring squid ink linguini garnished with strips of fried crabsticks with Ebiko, spring onion, dry shrimp and fried shallots as accompaniments.

Diners can select from three choices of main dishes namely Spicy Lamb Shank with King Mushroom featuring a grilled lamb cutlet drenched in spicy sauce with a side of fresh mushrooms and flat beans; Braised Tender Beef with Thai Red Curry Sauce, a superb choice slab of braised beef smoothed over with a sweet and spicy Thai Red Curry concoction with lotus root; or Crispy Skin Salmon with Tarragon Butter Sauce, a delectable grilled salmon steak drizzled with creamy butter sauce and garnished with oyster mushroom.

Ploy’s signature Mont Blanc dessert will tickle the fancy of the most jaded of foodies. Layers of special cream atop a crunchy biscuit base topped with a ripe juicy cherry will surely satisfy sweet cravings.

With Ploy’s signature uber-kitsch décor, the use of the freshest top-notch ingredients, attentive wait staff as well as a wide offering of fine, carefully-selected Australian and New Zealand wine, diners can look forward to an unsurpassed gastronomic experience this holiday season.
