WHAT’S NEW IN WATAMI JAPANESE CASUAL RESTAURANT, ONE UTAMA SHOPPING MALL

Watami had established back in 1992 where they brings the concept of “Casual Dining” which is trademark now. With the successful theme, you can find Watami anywhere where they have more than 600 outlets in Japan and 50 across Asia Pacific including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Singapore and most currently, in Malaysia. Though they have so many outlet in Malaysia but Watami in Malaysia is still new and they have only a few outlets now which is at Pavilion, One Utama and Paradigm Mall.

Watami had been a great place for lovely Japanese Cuisine. Opening a various outlet in Klang Valley. The restaurant brings us with lots of new items is being added to thir grand menu. The new dishes for this round is more focus to the snacks delights.

We started of with the Bariuma Teba Karaage is one of the item which is worth to order. The crispy chicken wing is being deep fried till crispiness and served together with a bowl of the wasabi and beef consommé dip. The chicken wings is just perfectly deep fried which give us a liht saltiness and juicy texture. It is just perfectly done and dipping to the flavorful light spiciness of the wasabi & beef consommé dip gives a umph to the dish itself. For me, it is pretty addictive as I wish the whole plate is mine.

Oyster lover would not miss this. The Kaki Fry which is the deep fried oyster served in a set of five in the little bowl. The big juicy oyster is being battered and cocooned in the deep ied crispy she;;/ The succulent fresh juicy oysters melts in the mouth with just a bite and the delights is just perfect to be paired with sake together.

If you are sushi lover, do try their Salmon and Avocado Sushi. Bringing the autumn feel delights, the fresh new ingridients with the sliced fresh salmon over the delicates sliced imported avacados is just perfect. It is filled with the shredded cucumber and pickled daikon to make the dish as the authentic Japanese Creation. The creation is simple but gives us a mouth watering delights.

Converting the usual style of having oysters, Watami brings us with their new item which is the Fire Oyster Roll Sushi. The creative deep fried oysters are served into maki sushi is just unique. The soft sushi rice wrapping the crispy oyster in it. The sushi is generously topped with the tartar sauce and shower with the chili pepper, as well as some sesame seeds bringing us with the twist of light spiciness in it.

Next comes the spider roll sushi which is where the Deep Fried Soft Sheel Crab is being rolled together with the fresh lettuce, sliced vegetables, sushi rice and besprinkle with the fish roe. The vabriant colours of the sushi is just appetizing as it is. Served alongside with the spider roll sushi with the bitter sweet Yakitori Mayo Sauce is just good as it is.

Terriyaki Salmon is one of my favorites. The hearty portion of the grilled salmon served with the side of baked potato, brocoli, corn and cheery tomatoes. Filled with the sweet and savory teriyaki sauce, the mouthful of salmon is sinfully good. It is just perfect with the fresh Norwegian Salmon which is used.

Nagasaki Chanpon-fu Ramen originated from Fujian, China is indeed a special to try off. The noodles brings with a more springy texture. With the setaming hot pork broth, slow cooked for hours had brings up the flavorful taste of the ramen itself. The delicious ramen is just perfect as it is where you can find some squids, prawns, and mussels in it too. Combination of the flavorful seafood together, no wonder the soup turns up to be sweet as it is.

Tokyo Meibutsu Stamina Don is where the juicy slices of pork in being marinated and topped of the bed of the Japanese rice. Topped on top of it will be the raw sunny egg yolk. It is just perfect to tossed the raw egg evenly with the pork and the rice giving you a more creamy taste of the whole dish. It is just perfect meal anytime and the pork meat is tender and juicy too.

Petite size of onigiri, served in a set of four is just something interesting to try off. Well grilled with the crispiness at the outside and chewiness in the inside, with the chopped bacon on top. It brings a light saltiness of the onigiri but it is worth to try off with a group of friends.
