Metropole Hanoi Introduces Unique Mooncake Flavours Ahead of Mid-Autumn Festival

August 2, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi has unveiled six exquisite mooncake flavours ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival 2024, in addition to artfully designed mooncake boxes featuring intricate illustrations inspired by lifestyle photographs of early 20th-century Hanoians.

This year’s mooncake collection, known as “A Heritage Tapestry,” embodies the iconic luxury hotel’s century-long legacy of history and culture, infused with poignant memories and experiences that define the Metropole’s legendary identity. The collection captures the classical elegance of the Indochine era and the quintessential charm of old Hanoi.

Distinctive flavours this year include Lotus Seeds & Macadamia Nuts; Matcha with Sunflower Seeds; Orange & Grand-Marnier; Traditional Mix; Black Sesame & Sunflower Seeds; and Green Bean, Apricot & Salted Egg. The preservative-free, hand-baked mooncakes are produced using authentic recipes infused with the Metropole’s gourmet touch.

Mooncakes are available in several elegant box options. A four-piece box (each piece is 200g) is priced at VND 2,980,000 and a six-piece box (each piece is 100g) is priced at VND 3,130,000. A six-piece VIP box (each piece is 100g) with a bottle of Vieux Saint Andre St Emilion 2019 is priced at VND 6,600,000 net. Finally, a limited Super VIP box with Emperor Lotus tea and Hanoia lacquer tea box is priced at VND 19,900,000 net.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, celebrated annually on the 15th day of the 8th month in the East Asian lunar calendar, is a time for families to come together to enjoy delicious teas and mooncakes, while giving thanks and praying for good fortune in the year ahead. Known as Tet Trung Thu in Vietnam, the festival traditionally signifies the end of the harvest season.

To place an order for Metropole Mooncakes, please call L’Epicerie du Metropole at 024 39335224, email [email protected], or visit the hotel online here: www.sofitel-legend-metropole-hanoi.com.
