Melaka welcomes Jaya Grocer’s 1st stand-alone outlet

August 31, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Jaya Grocer, a leading mass-premium supermarket chain in Malaysia, has selected Melaka for its first stand-alone outlet. Located in Tarcor Park, Klebang, the outlet is the 51st addition to the company’s expanding network and marks a significant milestone in Jaya Grocer’s ambitious expansion plans for 2024.

The outlet, which pays homage to Melaka’s rich cultural heritage with its distinctive Peranakan-inspired interior design, was officially opened by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Abdul Rauf bin Yusoh in a ceremony that coincided with Merdeka celebrations.

“I am pleased to welcome Jaya Grocer to Melaka. This addition not only enhances our retail landscape but also aligns with our commitment to boosting the local economy. As we continue to focus on sustainable growth and attracting quality investments, the launch of this outlet reflects our vision to provide residents with greater access to high quality goods and services. This initiative also creates new job opportunities, further strengthening our position as a vibrant hub for commerce and community, supporting our broader goals of economic resilience and prosperity for all in Melaka” shared Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf bin Yusoh, Chief Minister of Melaka.

“We are delighted to inaugurate our first stand-alone store in Melaka, a state steeped in rich history. At Jaya Grocer, our mission is to provide a diverse variety of high-quality and fresh produce at best value prices, ensuring our customers have the best shopping experiences. This new outlet is a testament to that mission. Our team has seamlessly incorporated Peranakan design elements into the store, creating a unique shopping destination that also celebrates the cultural heritage of Melaka,” said Adelene Foo, Chief Executive Officer, Jaya Grocer.

To celebrate the opening, Jaya Grocer is offering special promotions within the coming month, providing Malaccans with attractive deals on a wide range of products. Exclusive edition grocery bags and cooler bags will be available only at the Melaka outlet including a limited edition gula melaka chocolate specially crafted for the store, paying homage to Melaka’s rich cultural heritage.

“Expanding our presence in Malaysia is a key milestone for us. We are dedicated to making quality groceries accessible and continuously improving our customers’ shopping experience”, added Foo. The new Melaka store brings Jaya Grocer’s total number of outlets to 51, highlighting the chain’s rapid expansion and growing popularity across Malaysia.

Looking ahead, Jaya Grocer plans to introduce more innovative concepts and store formats to meet the evolving needs of its customers.  Like other Jaya Grocer stores, the Melaka outlet also offers online shopping via GrabMart and exclusive deals through the Jaya Grocer Membership program, which is integrated with the Grab app for added convenience.

The Jaya Grocer Membership program, powered by Grab, now available at the new store, offering savings and rewards. Members can earn points on purchases, which can be used for in-store discounts, further enhancing their shopping experience. Integrated with the GrabRewards ecosystem, the program allows customers to use points from other partners for Jaya Grocer purchases, underscoring Jaya Grocer’s commitment to value and convenience.
