Granny’s Mansion in Petaling Jaya: A Cozy Spot for Comforting Porridge and Noodles

August 21, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Recently, we discovered a delightful dining spot in Petaling Jaya called Granny’s Mansion. The restaurant boasts a modern, clean, and chic interior that feels both comfortable and inviting. Despite being bustling with people and lively conversations, the ordering process is quick and easy thanks to the QR codes available at every table. Even with a full house, the food arrives surprisingly fast, making it a great spot for a satisfying meal.

Granny’s Mansion is renowned for its pork noodles and porridge, offering a variety of choices to cater to different preferences. Whether you prefer meat or organs, different types of noodles, or various soup bases, there’s something for everyone. In addition to their signature dishes, they also serve light bites and snacks, primarily focusing on pork, though chicken and fish options are also available.

Snack Plate

We kicked off our meal with their snack plate, which included crispy fu chuk, deep-fried pork meat, and a tasty patty. Each bite was flavorful and satisfying, making it clear why this dish is a crowd favorite. The varying textures and sizes of the snacks complemented the porridge and noodle soup we enjoyed later.

Captain Seafood Porridge

One of the signature here is their seafood porridge. The porridge comes impressively good and they are perfectly packed lala, scallops, fish meat, and prawns. The porridge itself is velvety and delicious, with each scoop delivering a heavenly taste.

Trio King Porridge

A must-try, combining chicken egg, century egg, and salted egg in a bowl. The porridge comes simply creamy and it is such a homey dish. We added meatballs and deep-fried intestines for extra flavor, enhancing the already rich and velvety porridge.

Fish Grouper Fish Meat Noodles

We opted to add evaporated milk to the soup and chose rice noodles as the base. The result was a perfect match, with fresh, fried flaky fish and a comforting, creamy broth that we couldn’t get enough of.

Signature Spicy and Sour Soup

I am loving the spicy and sour soup base with sliced tomatoes and preserved vegetables (ham choy). The broth has an addictive tang from the preserved vegetables and tomatoes, with a tolerable spiciness that leaves a pleasant tingle on the taste buds.

And of course, dont miss out their coffee and other drinks..

For those craving comforting bowls of porridge or flavorful noodle soups, Granny’s Mansion is a must-visit. The combination of warm, hearty dishes and a cozy atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for a satisfying meal in Petaling Jaya.
