New Hotel Openings in Spain for Meliá Hotels International

June 23, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Meliá Lloret de Mar, Meliá Hotels International’s latest five-star hotel, opened this month. Formerly known as Gran Hotel Monterrey, the property has undergone a remarkable transformation into the distinguished Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand through a strategic partnership between Meliá Hotels International and Okami Hotels, the property’s asset manager.

Nestled amidst serene surroundings, encompassed by lush gardens and inviting pools, the new Meliá Lloret de Mar enjoys a prime location adjacent to the Casino and Municipal Theater, mere steps away from the beachfront. Following its extensive refurbishment, the hotel emerges as an exquisite sanctuary promoting tranquillity and luxury. With the commencement of this season, the hotel unveils 200 elegantly-styled Mediterranean-inspired rooms, meticulously crafted with the finest amenities including Rituals bath products, rain showers, and Chromecast, among other contemporary touches.

Setting a new standard within its domain, the hotel ascends to the pinnacle of distinctiveness with The Level, Meliá Hotels & Resorts’ most sophisticated service, catering to discerning guests seeking an elevated level of exclusivity. Featuring premium accommodations, personalised service, late check-out (subject to availability), and access to exclusive areas such as The Level Lounge, this enclave offers a secluded haven complete with private breakfast service and all-day refreshments.

To ensure the utmost relaxation and well-being of its guests, the hotel boasts a rejuvenating spa sanctuary featuring a hydrotherapy pool, sauna, jacuzzi, Turkish bath, and an array of revitalising treatments in line with the wellness ethos synonymous with the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand. Additionally, a state-of-the-art fitness center equipped with Technogym’s latest innovations caters to guests desiring to maintain their exercise routine during their stay.

Catering to families, the hotel introduces The Kidsdom, a dedicated space for children’s entertainment and educational activities focused on fostering creativity and environmental awareness, providing an innovative and tranquil environment tailored to meet the needs of every member of the family.

Complementing the indulgent accommodations, the hotel presents a culinary journey across three distinct restaurants: “Mosaico,” offering a buffet of traditional Mediterranean fare; “Gaia,” specialising in seafood and rice dishes served poolside; and the soon-to-open “Freu,” a local classic set to unveil a menu marrying Mediterranean influences with avant-garde flair by month’s end.

Furthermore, Meliá Lloret de Mar emerges as an exquisite venue for social gatherings and events, boasting a diverse array of venues including 11 function rooms and over 50,000m2 of meticulously landscaped gardens. Through its Love Stories by Meliá program, the hotel offers personalised service and a team of event planning experts dedicated to curating dream weddings against the enchanting backdrop of its lush gardens.

This highly anticipated debut not only signifies the company’s continued expansion into premium and luxury segments but also brings its renowned exceptional service and quintessential Spanish hospitality to one of Costa Brava’s most sought-after vacation spots.

Lloret de Mar: A Cultural Haven Amidst Natural Splendor

Beyond its stunning beaches and vibrant ambiance, Lloret de Mar stands as a bastion of historical and cultural significance. Visitors are invited to explore iconic landmarks such as the Castle of San Joan, the Santa Clotilde Gardens, and picturesque coastal trails offering breathtaking vistas of the Mediterranean.

In essence, Meliá Hotels & Resorts beckons travellers to discover the Costa Brava’s newest gem, where luxury, comfort, and meticulous attention to detail converge to craft an unforgettable experience.
