Recently, we had the opportunity to explore a coffee shop in Pudu that was recommended by some local friends. Located not far from the famous BBQ Pork Restaurant in Pudu, the shop was easy to find and had a relaxed atmosphere.
Upon arrival, we noticed that the restaurant had a dimly lit ambiance that might not immediately catch your eye, but we were intrigued by the local recommendation. Our initial plan was to try their claypot noodles, but unfortunately, it was closed on the day of our visit. Undeterred, we decided to sample some of their other offerings.
We started with their fish head noodle soup, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The soup was flavorful, and the chunks of fish were generous and tender. The noodles complemented the dish well, making it a satisfying choice.
Next, we ordered the curry mee, which, while decent, didn’t leave a lasting impression. The curry lacked the depth of flavor we were expecting, although the portion of cockles provided was generous and fresh.
One dish that truly stood out was the fried koay teow. It was expertly stir-fried with a delightful charred flavor that enhanced the overall taste. The noodles were perfectly cooked and packed with savory goodness.
Despite the mixed experience with the dishes we tried, the fried koay teow was certainly the highlight of our meal at the coffee shop.
Overall, our visit to this local eatery was a blend of hits and misses. While some dishes exceeded our expectations, others fell short. Nevertheless, exploring new culinary spots and trying different dishes is always an adventure, and we were glad to have discovered the delicious fried koay teow during our visit.
