Pento’s & Basil @ Aurora Place

May 27, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Nestled in Aurora Place, just beside Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Pento’s & Basil Café is a vibrant, pork-free Italian restaurant that opened its doors in 2021. Dedicated to bringing you a delightful array of pasta and western cuisine, this café is a must-visit for food enthusiasts. It is indeed a good place to dine .

Pento’s Signature Salad

We started our meal with their salad. When it arrived, we are amazed with the portion. It comes with the generous portion of garden greens served with cherry tomatoes, corn, chicken thigh, toasted almond, avocado, crispy Tuscan kale, charred pumpkin, mushroom confit, a 63-degree egg, and house dressing. The freshness and variety in every bite are truly remarkable!

 Wild Mushroom Soup

I love how they made the soup which comes rich and creamy. It is made with the trio of mushroom velouté, cream, chives, and a drizzle of truffle oil. It’s a comforting and luxurious start to your meal.

Asian Clam with Kombu Seaweed

Savor the flavors of the Orient with their Asian Clams, cooked with white wine, onion, garlic, chili, kombu butter, chives, and lemon juice. Served with sliced ciabatta bread, this dish offers a fresh and delicious taste of the sea.

 Thai Tomyam Seafood Pasta

A must-try, the Thai Tomyam Seafood Pasta features perfectly cooked al-dente spaghetti in a spicy tomyam and tomato sauce. It’s loaded with generous amounts of black mussels, squid, sea prawns, shimeji mushrooms, garlic, cherry tomatoes, chili, chicken broth, butter, parmesan, lime leaf, and basil oil. A fusion of Thai flavors with Italian pasta that’s simply irresistible!

Braised Grain Fed Beef Cheek “Bouef Bourguignon”

One of Pento’s & Basil signatures, this dish includes a slow-braised 250g Australian beef cheek, cooked in red wine and beef jus, served with homemade gnocchi. Accompanied by confit duck fat carrots, baby onions, forest mushrooms, petit pois, Italian parsley, and rosemary oil, it’s a hearty and flavorful choice that promises a memorable dining experience.

Pento’s & Basil Café for an exceptional culinary journey where every dish is crafted with passion and attention to detail. Whether you’re a fan of Italian cuisine or looking to try something new, Pento’s Café has something delightful to offer
