Nong Geng Ji @ TRX Exchange: Famous China Hunan Delights is now in Malaysia

April 8, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

In the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s bustling The Exchange TRX Mall, Nong Geng Ji 农耕记湖南菜, China’s premier Hunan restaurant chain, has finally made its debut, eliciting waves of excitement among local food enthusiasts. Renowned for its commitment to delivering authentic Hunan culinary experiences, the arrival of Nong Geng Ji in Kuala Lumpur has been eagerly anticipated by those eager to savor the rich and bold flavors that have captivated diners worldwide.

As we entered the restaurant, our senses were immediately captivated by the enticing aroma of sizzling spices and savory broths, creating an atmosphere ripe with anticipation for the culinary delights that awaited us. Guided by the expert recommendations of the knowledgeable staff, we eagerly embarked on a journey to explore the restaurant’s renowned signature dishes.

Stir-Fried Pork with Abalone and Chili

We started off with the Stir-Fried Pork with Abalone and Chilli, a fusion of tender pork leg and spicy chillies, skillfully cooked alongside Hunan green peppers. Each mouthful offered a delightful explosion of flavors, as the succulent pork mingled with the fiery zest of the chillies, leaving our taste buds tingling with satisfaction. It was a dish that not only tantalized the palate but also left us longing for another bite.

The Stir-fried Beef with Dried Chilli

Following the delightful pork dish, we were treated to the Stir-fried Beef with Dried Chili, a timeless classic in Hunan cuisine. Sliced beef, expertly stir-fried with fragrant dried peppers and aromatic spring onions, presented a rich and savory flavor profile. The marriage of the beef’s robust taste with the smoky heat of the chilies resulted in a culinary masterpiece that lingered on the palate long after the last bite. It exemplified the intricate balance of flavors that characterizes Hunan cuisine, showcasing the culinary expertise behind each dish.

Signature Grass Fish Fillet with Chili

Undoubtedly, the highlight of our dining experience was the Signature Grass Fish Fillet with Chilli, a dish that captivated our taste buds from the very first bite. The tender fish fillets, adorned with a generous serving of pickled chilli sauce, offered a symphony of flavors and textures. With each mouthful, the delicate fish melted in our mouths, while the tangy kick of the chilli sauce danced on our palates, leaving behind a tantalizing sensation

Pan-Seared Green Chilli with Century Egg

One dish that truly caught our attention with its innovative blend of flavors was the Pan-Seared Green Chili with Century Egg. This unexpected pairing brought together the gentle spiciness of the green chilli with the velvety richness of the century egg, resulting in a culinary experience that was as surprising as it was delightful. O

Steamed Fish Head with Chopped Pepper

This is one of my favourite. We love the tender fish head expertly steamed to perfection. What truly elevates this delicacy is the aromatic chopped pepper sauce, which infuses the dish with a burst of fragrant flavors. Each bite offers a symphony of tastes and textures, making it a must-try for anyone seeking an authentic Hunan dining experience.

Mushroom Meatball Soup

A must to try is the comforting bowl of nourishment crafted with hearty meatballs and earthy mushrooms, gently simmered in a flavorful broth. This delightful soup serves as the perfect accompaniment to any meal, offering a satisfying blend of savory flavors and wholesome ingredients that will warm both heart and palate.

White Rice with Sweet Potato and Red Dates

We are totally falling in love with the White Rice with Sweet Potato and Red Dates. It brings you with a delightful fusion of flavors and textures. Enjoy fluffy white rice complemented by the natural sweetness of sweet potato and red dates, creating a comforting and satisfying staple that beautifully rounds out any meal. This wholesome dish offers a harmonious balance of savory and sweet notes.

Signature Lemon Tea

The Signature Lemon Tea offers a refreshing break from the bold and fiery flavors of Hunan cuisine. With its zesty tang of lemon, this beverage provides a delightful contrast that cuts through the richness of the dishes, offering a pleasant and invigorating experience with every sip.

Overall, our experience at Nong Geng Ji was truly exceptional. From the warm hospitality to the bold flavors of the dishes, every aspect of the dining experience was executed with precision and care. Whether you’re a seasoned food enthusiast or simply curious to explore the tastes of Hunan cuisine, Nong Geng Ji is a culinary destination not to be missed. The restaurant’s dedication to authentic flavors, quality ingredients, and attentive service left us thoroughly impressed and eager to return for more culinary delights.
