Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur Commitment to the “Embrace Gift of Life” this Ramadan

March 31, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur was honored to host its annual “Embrace Gift of Life” Buka Puasa dinner on March 21, 2023, at the Grand Johor Ballroom. The event served as a beacon of hope and unity, bringing together 140 individuals, including 60 children from Rumah Qaseh Ibu orphanage, as well as children of the Embrace recipients and their families.

The “Embrace Gift of Life” charity program, which the hotel initiated in 1985, holds a special place in the hearts of many. It is dedicated to raising funds for children battling congenital heart disease or severe heart ailments. These funds are instrumental in providing life-saving operations and post-operative treatments, offering a lifeline to those in need and transforming the lives of countless children and their families.

Daniel Kaeflein, the General Manager at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, extended a warm welcome to all guests, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to host such a meaningful event. He underscored the hotel’s unwavering commitment to community support, emphasizing the importance of coming together to make a positive impact.

The spirit of giving and camaraderie filled the air as attendees and volunteers joined hands to celebrate the joy of giving back to the community. The success of the event was made possible through the generous support of co-sponsors. Hop On Hop Off Bus played a pivotal role by providing transportation for the children from Rumah Qaseh Ibu orphanage, ensuring that every child could participate in the festivities.

Heavenly Star Music Academy and the Yayasan Nanyang Press organized captivating musical performances featuring 16 talented children aged 3 to 12 years old. Their enchanting performances created a magical atmosphere brimming with joy and excitement, adding an extra layer of warmth to the event.

As a testament to its enduring commitment, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur remains steadfast in its dedication to supporting the “Embrace Gift of Life” charity program and other community initiatives. Through collective efforts and unwavering compassion, the hotel continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need, embodying the true spirit of hospitality and kindness.
