Sushinosuke Omakase @ Pinnacle Petaling Jaya

January 2, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

As the culinary landscape of Kuala Lumpur continues to evolve, a noteworthy addition to the city’s burgeoning omakase scene has emerged — Sushinosuke Omakase. Tucked away in the vibrant heart of Pinnacle Petaling Jaya, adjacent to the Sheraton Hotel Petaling Jaya, this Japanese gem beckons discerning diners seeking an authentic taste of Tokyo’s gastronomic delights

Originating from Shinmashi, Sushinosuke has garnered acclaim as one of Tokyo’s premier budget-friendly omakase establishments. With a team of seasoned Japanese culinary masters at its helm, Sushinosuke endeavors to transplant the essence of Tokyo’s culinary magic to Kuala Lumpur. What sets it apart is not just the promise of an extraordinary omakase journey but also its commitment to affordability, making this culinary experience accessible to a wider audience.

Step into the 16-seater, counter-style dining space, where warmth tones and contemporary design coalesce seamlessly. Wooden elements and ambient lighting create an inviting ambiance, encouraging patrons not only to savor the exquisite dishes but also to engage with the culinary theater unfolding before them as the chef crafts each masterpiece.

In line with its tagline, Sushinosuke places emphasis on delivering a fun and casual dining experience, presented in a fashionable manner. The chef and staff contribute to the relaxed atmosphere, proving that a night gown isn’t a prerequisite; there’s no strict dress code here. Yet, if the mood strikes, dressing up only enhances the overall experience, complementing the refined yet unpretentious ambiance.

The heart and soul of Sushinosuke lie in the chef’s meticulous curation of high-quality ingredients. The menu pays homage to Japanese culinary traditions, presenting a marriage of classic and casual with a dash of modernity and the chef’s own creativity. While the presentation may eschew extravagant plating, every bite is a testament to the real, unadulterated goodness found in each carefully crafted dish.

Among the standouts are the delightful sushi, the refreshing zing of young ginger, the melt-in-your-mouth, the succulent tuna cheek, and the signature Sushinosuke Rice bowl overflowing with ikura and uni. Each dish invites diners on a journey through the diverse and nuanced flavors of Japanese cuisine.

We ends our meal with the hearty bowl of the miso soup before moving to their delicious melts in the mouth desserts.

What truly distinguishes Sushinosuke from its counterparts is its affordability. Priced at a reasonable RM388++ for a lavish spread of 20 dishes, it stands as one of the most economically attractive omakase dining options in Petaling Jaya.
