Celebrate the Year of the Dragon at G

January 24, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Usher in the majestic Year of the Dragon with an ensemble of lavish experiences at G. The hotel is poised to mark the auspicious occasion in unparalleled style and elegance with sumptuous culinary experiences at Café 168, featuring specially curated Chinese New Year themed buffet.

Begin the feast with an auspicious toss of our signature Yee Sang, featuring condiments and delicate slices of salmon, or savour the artful craftsmanship at the salad station, where dressings and condiments elevate freshness to perfection.

Chef specially crafted wholesome soups, including the double-boiled black chicken soup with herbs and the savoury oxtail soup, set a sophisticated tone for the evening, showcasing culinary finesse. At the heart of the buffet is the carving station, spotlighting the roasted Chinese Duck.

Celebrated for its crispy skin and succulent meat, this dish pays homage to time-honoured traditions, ensuring an authentic and immersive experience. Executive Chef Ketut Dodi’s specialty steals the spotlight with the Roasted Whole Lamb with condiment – presenting a succulent and perfectly cooked whole lamb, imbued with smoky aromas and tender, flavourful meat. Complimenting the star of the show, condiments from zesty mint chutney to rich, tangy tzatziki, each condiment is carefully crafted to enhance the natural flavours of the lamb. Additional gastronomic delights include slow-roasted striploin in thyme gravy and Hainan steamed chicken with condiment. The Barbeque Grill counter boasts an abundance of fresh seafood, from fish to king prawn, expertly grilled to accentuate their natural flavours. Lamb chops, duck breast, and rosemary chicken further enhance the grilling experience, each served with an assortment of delectable sauces.

Seafood enthusiasts can indulge in Café 168’s opulent seafood on ice display, featuring pristine, chilled selections, from plump oysters to sweet crab legs. The vibrant action kitchen showcases Western and Asian delights, with live cooking stations presenting dishes like Penang Asam Laksa, Grilled Satay, and an array of Pasta and Pizza selections, ensuring a celebration of diverse taste preferences.

Conclude your CNY buffet on a high note and treat yourself at the dessert corner with some traditional Chinese desserts like, Chinese New Year cookies, Red Bean soup and so much more. Chef Dodi’s Chinese Nian Gao with desiccated coconut is a traditional allure accompanied with tropical sweetness, creating a delightful fusion of flavours that will captivate your taste buds. Every bite is a harmonious dance of textures, creating a sensor experience that is as pleasing to the palate. Otherwise, indulge in a sumptuous selection of ice cream and refreshing sherbets with toppings that caters to adults and kids’ preferences, ensuring a truly personalized indulgence.
