Tanyu @ 1 Utama

September 9, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

Tanyu has always been one of our favorite dining spots, and the news of their new outlet at 1 Utama brought us much joy. The moment we stepped in, the familiar red-hued decor reminiscent of their Pavilion Kuala Lumpur branch greeted us, creating a wonderful ambience. The warm welcome from the staff made us feel right at home, and throughout our visit, it was the impeccable service that truly stood out, making our experience all the more enjoyable.

Tanyu’s standout dish, undoubtedly, is their Tanyu Grilled Fish. This signature dish offers a delightful array of grilled fish options, each prepared in a unique and delicious way. The menu allows you to select your preferred fish from a tempting variety, including Limbo Fish, QingJiang Fish, Seabass, and Lumbo Fish Fillet. Our personal favorite was the Limbo Fish – its tender meat and perfect texture paired wonderfully with the spices.

The excitement doesn’t end with choosing your fish; the next step involves selecting your preferred style of preparation. Tanyu offers a diverse range of options to cater to every taste bud. From Grilled Fish with Fresh Green Pepper to Chongqing Grilled Fish with Beancurd, Grilled Fish with Seven Ingredients to Grilled Fish With Garlic Flavour, and many more, the choices are both exciting and extensive.

Grilled Fish with Sauerkraut [RM119.90]

We kicked off our culinary journey with the Grilled Fish with Sauerkraut. This dish perfectly balanced the sourish notes of sauerkraut with a satisfyingly appetizing twist. The addition of a golden combination of ingredients further elevated the dish’s overall flavor profile. The set includes the  sliced potatoes, lotus root, enoki mushrooms, and savory luncheon meat is indeed make a good mix with the brooth itself. The grilled fish itself is indeed tender, moist and fresh.

Pickled Bamboo Shoots [RM7.90]

The delightfully tangy and crunchy pickled Bamboo Shoots deserve a special mention. These little wonders played a remarkable role in balancing the fiery spiciness and tanginess of the grilled fish. The addictive pickled treats makes us crave for more.

Golden Mushroom with Minced Garlic [RM15.90]

These mushrooms are expertly grilled to perfection and then generously topped with minced garlic. The result is a delightful combination where the aromatic garlic flavor beautifully infuses into the mushrooms, creating a truly delicious treat.

Grilled Eggplant [RM19.90]

The Grilled Eggplant, priced at RM19.90, was a delightful surprise during our dining experience at TANYU. While I’m not usually a fan of eggplants, this dish completely changed my perspective. The eggplants were expertly grilled to perfection, resulting in a smoky, tender texture that was truly satisfying. What made this dish even more impressive was the infusion of flavors

Pumpkin Cake [RM11.90]

It quickly won our hearts with its delectable qualities. This dessert was a perfect balance of texture and flavor, as it was wonderfully soft and fluffy.

What truly elevated the experience was dipping the pumpkin cake into the accompanying sweet condensed milk. This added a rich and creamy sweetness that complemented the subtle earthy notes of the pumpkin cake. It was a delightful combination of flavors and textures that we couldn’t get enough of.

Lemon & Lime Milk Drink [RM12.90]

Lemon & Lime Drink [RM12.90]

After an appetizing milk why not enjoy their refreshing drink which is the Lemon & Lime Milk Drink and Lemon & Lime Drink.

Is time to head to Tanyu now!
