In the island of East Timor, among the wilderness, steep terrain and limestone soil where coffee grows and develops slowly, lies a coffee origin like no other. It is in the Letefoho region, which means “Top of the mountain”, where cooperative if smallholder farmers grow coffee on small plots in a densely forested landscape, blanketed under a towering 50-meter-tall tree canopy as a shade tree creating a rich and multilayered note of coffee with hints of black butter and nutmeg with every sip. Hailing all the way from Africa, the Kati Kati Blend coffee cherry that ripens on the tree is handpicked and carefully washed before each bean is meticulously dried and turned by hand on elevated beds infusing crisp citrus and spice notes with every cup that is hot or iced.
