G Hotel Welcomes Bernard Krishnan as the Trailblazing Mastermind Behind Culinary Delights!

G Hotel Gurney and G Hotel Kelawai, both the award-winning hotels consistently ranked by travellers and travel experts as one of the top hotels in Penang, has named Bernard Krishnan as the new Director of Food and Beverage. With an illustrious career spanning over 15 years in the hospitality industry, Bernard brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the esteemed establishment.

Throughout his career, Bernard has cultivated his expertise across various renowned establishments, earning him a reputation for exceptional leadership and unrivalled creativity. His journey in the world of Food and Beverage began with a profound inspiration drawn from the iconic movie “Cocktail,” which ignited his fervour for the craft. Since then, Bernard has continuously pushed the boundaries of gastronomic artistry, creating extraordinary experiences for discerning guests. “We are delighted and proud to welcome Bernard to our G’s family,” said Michael Hanratty, General Manager of G Hotel. “He is passionate and has a hands-on leadership style, along with a plethora of ideas and innovations and international expertise in food and beverage, which will serve us all well here in our Penang food paradise.”

Born in Edinburg Scotland, Bernard is a leader who is highly motivated to consistently achieve beyond the company’s expectations and is passionate towards achieving excellence and creating guests for life. “Think outside the box” as he always says. Bernard constantly seeks to improve not only the profitability but the productivity and efficiency of his operations. Bernard began his hospitality career over 15 years ago, starting out in the Food & Beverage space before growing into his first role as acting general manager of Novotel Danang Premier Han, Vietnam in year 2020 till 2022. Bernard has successfully run Novotel Danang Hotel and led the team during the Covid pandemic period by implementing multiple preventive measures over and beyond regulations to protect all guests and team members. He has spent the majority of his career with Sofitel brand working in Macau, Cambodia and Philippines, with his latest role being EAM of Intercontinental Mauritius Resort.

As Director of Food and Beverage, Bernard will oversee all food and beverage operations, focusing on innovation, creativity and providing extraordinary culinary experiences for guests. He arrives just in time to launch the concepts at Tree Bar, as well as to oversee menu enhancements at Café 168, G Hotel Gurney. “As a passionate hotelier, it is a true honour to join G Hotel. I look forward to bringing my experience and fresh perspective to the culinary offerings of this stunning and fascinating property. I look forward to being part of this fantastic team for the coming years.”

Bernard is not only a skilled and dedicated professional, but also a passionate and well-rounded individual outside of work. During his free time, Bernard likes to stay active by cycling and swimming. He also enjoys watching football and playing darts, showing his competitive nature and love for sports. Furthermore, Bernard has a strong sense of adventure and enjoys traveling to different parts of the world, experiencing new cultures and cuisines. G Hotel is proud to have such a multi-talented and dynamic individual on our team. His diverse interests and experiences will continue to bring value and creativity to the hotel’s food and beverage offerings.
