Vietjet expands its reach into Indonesia, connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta

May 31, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

Vietjet launches its third direct flight into Indonesia, to one of Southeast Asia’s major cities – Jakarta. Flying direct between Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta from August 5 this year, this new route marks another milestone achievement for the airline as it continuously strives to expand its footprints globally to reach a broader audience in Southeast Asia.

Vietjet will be operating daily round-trip flights between Ho Chi Minh City to Jakarta departing from Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City at 09:35 (local time) and arrive in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) in Jakarta at 12:30 (local time). Meanwhile the return flight will depart Jakarta at 13:30 (local time) and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 16:40 (local time).

Passengers to and from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta, Indonesia will now have another daily flight option by transiting in Ho Chi Minh City. Operating on a daily basis, flights between Kuala Lumpur and Ho Chi Minh City will give passengers more flexibility and an alternative flight route to Jakarta.

“With our state-of-the-art aircraft fleet, modern amenities, and comprehensive service packages, Vietjet is ready to expand our international network in support of trade and tourism in the Southeast Asian region. Following our current highly-appreciated direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Bali, Vietjet’s latest direct service will make traveling between both Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta more convenient and affordable than ever before. The direct connection between the two countries’ biggest cities will also facilitate business, cultural exchange, and tourism travel in the region, thus further boosting regional integration to the world,” said Nguyen Thanh Son, Vice President of Vietjet.

Vietjet is also currently operating two services to Indonesia, with 3 daily round-trip flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Bali, and one daily round-trip flight between Hanoi and Bali. With the addition of the route to Jakarta, Vietjet will operate three commercial flight routes from Vietnam to Indonesia from August.

To celebrate the launch of this new service to Jakarta, Vietjet is offering super-deal promotions every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with fares starting from as low as RM0 (excluding taxes and surcharges). The promotion is applied to Vietjet’s entire international flight network, including the Kuala Lumpur – Ho Chi Minh route. Guests can book their promotional tickets at www.vietjetair.com and the Vietjet Air app for traveling between August 10, 2023 to March 31, 2024 (excluding national holidays).
