AVANTÉ HOTEL, BANDAR UTAMA’S ICONIC SANTAPAN RASA SAYANG BUFFET DINNER IS BACK

March 29, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

AVANTE Hotel is excited to announce the return of their highly anticipated Santapan Rasa Sayang 2023 Buffet Dinner. This year’s buffet promises to be even bigger and better than before, featuring a wide selection of nostalgic and iconic dishes from various Malaysian states.

And this year, they have outdone themselves by offering an extensive spread of 105 dishes that will tantalize your taste buds and take you on a culinary journey across Malaysia and beyond.

Chef Arih Ahmad’s daging bakar masak lemak is one of the main highlights of the buffet. This traditional Negeri Sembilan specialty is cooked to perfection, with tender beef grilled to smoky perfection and then simmered in creamy coconut gravy. The dish is rich, flavorful, and utterly satisfying, making it a must-try for all foodies.

Besides this, the buffet also features other classic Malaysian dishes such as satay, rendang ayam, kampung fried chicken, kambing kurma kentang, sotong belado, and kambing golek. Each dish is prepared with care and attention to detail, ensuring that the flavors are authentic and nostalgic.

For those who are looking for a more international twist to their buffet experience, there is an array of international dishes to choose from. The chicken chop is a Western classic, with juicy chicken smothered in a delicious brown sauce, while the black pepper fried crabs are a Chinese-inspired delicacy, with succulent crab meat coated in a crispy coating and flavored with aromatic black pepper.

Japanese food lovers will rejoice in the sushi and sashimi selection, which is always a crowd-pleaser. And for those who prefer spicy and bold flavors, the Mongolian stir-fried beef and sweet and sour squid are perfect choices.

Comparing last year, they had more dishes than the last year, adding that the new dishes this year were daging gulai kawah, or Gear Box Soup, among others.

One of the highlights of the buffet is the noodle station where chefs fry Kuey Teow Goreng and Bihun Goreng ‘live’ in front of the guests. Other food stalls serve up delicious treats like crispy apam balik and popiah basah, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Chef Arih mentioned that the grilled goat meat and daging gulai kawah were the most time-consuming and challenging dishes to prepare, with the former requiring grilling for three hours and the latter needing hours of stirring. However, all the main dishes were beautifully garnished and looked tempting.

To add to the already delightful food, the fruit table was decorated with carved fruits, while the dessert table was colorful and eye-catching. Guests can end the night on a sweet note with a vast selection of fine French pastries, an assortment of cakes, and local delicacies like Seri Muka.

Not only is the food exceptional, but the coffee house where the buffet dinner is held offers ample space with contemporary furnishings and a brightly lit atmosphere. The Santapan Rasa Sayang 2023 Buffet Dinner is available from now until April 21, 2023, from 6.30pm to 10.30pm daily. For more information, visit avantehotel.com.my.
