DEBIC SHOWS SUPPORT TO TEAM MALAYSIA AS THEY SET TO IMPRESS JUDGES AT THE BIGGEST PASTRY COMPETITION IN THE WORLD

  This month, four Malaysian pastry chefs will compete at the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie 2023, also known as Pastry World Cup, where top pastry chefs worldwide put their skills to the test. Team Malaysia will go up against teams from 20 countries on 20 and 21 January 2023.

Chef Lim Boon Chuan, chocolate candidate in team Malaysia 2023; Chef Kean Yap, Coach for team Malaysia 2023; Ramjeet Kaur Virik, Managing Director of Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad; Mr Majid Zaman, Sales Director, Horeca & Bakery APAC, FrieslandCampina Professional; Chef Mun Pui Teng, team Malaysia 2023 captain and sugar candidate; Chef Goh Jun Wei, ice candidate in team Malaysia 2023.

Ramjeet Kaur Virik, Managing Director of Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad, shared, “At Debic, we understand professional chefs and provide customized solutions for them with high-quality products, ease of convenience, to inspire chefs to create high-quality creations. Team Malaysia previously won the Asian Pastry Cup 2022, securing their entry in Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie 2023.

The team consists of:

Chef Kean Yap, team coach

Chef Mun Pui Teng, team captain and sugar candidate

Chef Goh Jun Wei, ice candidate

Chef Lim Boon Chuan, chocolate candidate

The team hopes to replicate Malaysia’s success in Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie 2019, where team Malaysia emerged as champions, with Debic appointing Chef Otto Tay and Chef Loi Ming Ai as Debic Ambassadors.

Stella Yew, Head of Food Service, FrieslandCampina Professional Malaysia and Singapore shared, “The appointment of Chef Otto and Chef Loi as Debic ambassadors are in line with the purpose of FrieslandCampina Professional, the division dedicated to nourishing the heroes of food, of which Debic is a part.”
